Here's a swampy lake for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
All sorts of strange things are rising to the top of the lake now that it is being drained for construction. This doll head is quite creepy looking in all the algae muck.
The water line is quite low and the tree pollen is everywhere creating quite the mucky mess on the lake. They have to drain it down to do some construction on the boat house.
The turtles are loving the muck.
The fish aren't liking the lower water level, this carp kicked the bucket and now all the turtles will be feasting on it.
Along the edges of the lake generations of snail shells are being revealed. Perhaps in thousands of years they will become compressed and turned into limestone.
The geese are growing up quite nicely, they don't seem to mind the lower water level and spend most of their time on land eating grass.
The frogs are more noticeable now too.
Quite a few of them were lounging around in the muck. I'm sure all the smell of the rotting algae has drawn the flies around for them to eat.
Most of the little frogs jumped away as I walked the edge of the lake, the big guys didn't seem to care I was there though and posed nicely for photos.
The red winged black birds are now being less aggressive now that their babies have grown up enough to fly on their own. They still pose nicely for photos though.
That's all for now, thanks for looking and happy #wednesdaywalk
