Here are a few finds by the lake for this #wednesdaywalk by
We found a spent robin nest that got blown down by the wind. It even had a broken egg in it. I'm hoping the fledgling was out of there before the storm hit.
Meanwhile the rain and heat has caused some swampish algae to build up at the lake.
I've seen even more turtles this year, they love that algae muck.
My daughter finally got to pet one, poor thing hissed a bit. I suspect it was on its way to lay eggs somewhere.
The dad is worse than the daughter... I turned it over to see its painted turtle colors.
Then I picked it up to show how they try and bite to warn my daughter how to pick them up properly lol. This was about the third turtle we saw outside of the lake. Either this is egg laying time or they are too crowded in the current lake and are heading for a river nearby.
Here is a fun waterfall at a Japanese garden. They also were loaded down with turtles.
Now its time to head back to work after a long weekend. Its 6am in this picture and it is already quite bright. Summer really sets off my sleep cycle where it gets sunny at 4am. By 8am it already feels like noon.
Now I just have to board myself up in one of these dark human receptacles for the next 8 hours or so.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
