Today's #wednesdaywalk is around De Rock Drive. I hope @tattoodjay is well and healthy as he has not been consistent in posting. I hope all is well and note that I have missed your #wednesdaywalk post @tattoodjay. This is a popular area in the City of Lekki. There is a film House in this area but despite how beautiful the place is flood is their major problem. I had a discussion with my friend during this walk and our major concern was the best time to rent an apartment or build a house.
The following Observation will be known
- During raining season you will clearly know the area that is flooded and the one that is not.
- You will know the road network that is good and the one that is bad
- You will know where there is always traffic congestion and where there is not.
- You will know if the compound is more elevated and will prevent flood
- You will know if the drainage system is functional
- You will know if the area is safe even if there is about four days consecutive rain.
I believe if there is a good drainage system the flood in this area will be reduced. There is more danger in this vicinity and people are yet to observe it. It is best to create a very good drainage system in order to avoid future catastrophe since this place is an Island.
Living in a flooded area will no make one have peace of mind because, once you are out probably to work or travelled. Ones mind will not be at peace or at rest. The person will be worried especially whenever it rains for hours. This is the major reason i prefer some parts of the mainland. Living in this part of the world is very much expensive and the expense too comes with flood during raining season.
I leave the major question if this is actually De rock Drive or De Rock Flood
