University Pathways
Today we’re going to take a walk through the medical area of the Caracas University City campus, a place shaped by the city’s energy and home to one of the largest hospital complexes in the entire capital. At the same time, however, it is an area designed to blend seamlessly into an environment defined by academia and research.

Senderos Universitarios
Hoy vamos a caminar dentro del área médica del campus de la ciudad universitaria de Caracas, un lugar marcado por el dinamismo de la ciudad y que alberga uno de los recintos hospitalarios más grandes de toda la capital. Pero al mismo tiempo se trata de un área pensada para mantenerse integrada a la perfección con un entorno regido por la academia y la investigación.
Like everything in the university city, here the architecture coexists fully with the various elements of nature; this is how we find large spaces covered in grass, many trees of different species, and a constant breeze that sweeps through the hospital, naturally clearing it.
Como todo en la ciudad universitaria, aquí la arquitectura convive a plenitud con los diversos elementos de la naturaleza; es así como encontramos grandes espacios cubiertos por grama, muchos árboles de diferentes especies y una brisa constante que surca el hospital, barriéndolo de forma natural.
Many might think I am in an environment of heavy or negative energies, but the truth is that this is a space brimming with life, where each path offers a distinct experience, yet all share a common thread, forming an important part of an urban project that has established itself as one of the best in the world.
Muchos pudieran pensar que me encuentro en un entorno de energías pesadas o negativas, pero la verdad es que se trata de un espacio rebosante de vida, en donde cada Sendero nos presenta una experiencia distinta, pero todos mantienen un mismo hilo conductor, formando parte importante de un proyecto urbanístico que se ha consagrado como uno de los mejores del mundo.
Despite being surrounded by monumental buildings, the creative genius of architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva has gifted us a space that does not feel suffocating; on the contrary, our entire surroundings align perfectly to ensure our stay is always pleasant.
A pesar de encontrarme rodeado de edificios monumentales, el genio creador del arquitecto Carlos Raúl Villanueva nos regaló un espacio que no sofoca, sino que, por el contrario, todo nuestro entorno se alinea de manera perfecta para que nuestra estadía siempre sea agradable.
Fortunately, Caracas treated us to a cloudy morning, with the sun seeming to sleep in late, which helped keep the temperature at a pleasant level. This is especially welcome at this time of year, as we’re currently experiencing a period of quite intense heat, which can sometimes make our outings a bit more challenging.
Afortunadamente, Caracas nos regaló una mañana repleta de nubes, en donde el sol parecía dormir hasta tarde y, por lo tanto, esto contribuyó de manera positiva para que la temperatura se mantuviera en niveles paradisíacos. Situación que en esta época del año es realmente valiosa, ya que nos encontramos atravesando un período bastante intenso en cuanto al aumento de temperaturas, lo cual a veces hace que nuestros paseos sean un tanto más difíciles.
But today’s experience was excellent; I connected with nature, enjoyed pleasant weather, and at the same time reminisced about my student days, when I often walked these very same paths and trails. But the difference is that today I’m doing it with a visitor—not filled with nostalgia, but with great joy—because that was an extraordinary time, and my present is also a time when I’m living life to the fullest, savoring every moment and living every second as if it were my last.
Pero la experiencia de hoy fue excelente; interactué con la naturaleza, disfruté de un clima agradable y al mismo tiempo recordé mi época de estudiante, en donde en muchas ocasiones pasé por estos mismos pasillos y senderos. Pero la diferencia es que hoy lo hago con un visitante, no lleno de nostalgias, pero sí de muchas alegrías, porque esa fue una época extraordinaria y mi actualidad también es un momento en donde me encuentro viviendo a plenitud, disfrutando de cada momento y viviendo cada segundo como si fuera el último.
