How are you friends Wednesday walk community, hope you are healthy and always happy. Thank you @tattoodjay as the host, this time I will share my experience of being in a historical place.
One of the historical places in the City of Bandung is Asia-Africa street. This place is in the City of Bandung,West Java, Indonesia.
Asia-Africa street in Bandung is a historical place and many old building, this road is the oldest protocol road. Which was built by the Dutch Daendeles Government at that time.
I tried to walk on the Asia -Africa street, by looking at the old building along the way. Why is it named Asia Africa street, because there is one building that was of historical value at the time the high meeting of Countries was held in 1955.
Which was attented by 29 Countries at that time such as Indonesia as the host, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Burma(now Myanmar), Ceylon( now Srilanka), China, Jepang, Iran and other Countries.
The building used for the meeting called the "Gedung Merdeka"( Independent building), until now the building is still sturdy and well maintained.
The "Gedung Merdeka"(Independent building) was built in 1895, designed and built by the Dutch Government, and to commemorate history, the independen building was turned into the Asia-Africa museum building.
One of the result of the meeting at the time of the meeting was to encourage activities between Countries in the Asia-Africa Region. To promote World place International cooperation, and the cultural economy.
When I walk a comes the Asia-Africa road in the rainy weather which will affect the shooting. A long the way will find many old building with Art Deco of architecture, with strong stripes for horizontal lined.
Like the Savoy Homann hotel building which built in 1880, thick with Art Deco style architecture. Then in front of the Hotel there is one of the News paper printing building, showing the machine for printing news paper at that time.
Old building that have historical value are still solid because the are routinely maintaned by Government. Some old building have original functions such as Post office building, until now they are still building was still function as the main post office in the City of Bandung, was built 1931.
There is also an old building that function as a Bank office, maintaining its original form. Walking in this place we can find a front yard of the Mosque, like people who are gathering to communicate with other Mosque use find City bus stop with various directions.
The place of the Asia-Africa road used a tourist spot, every holiday,this place is quite crowded to visit. an old building on Asia-Africa street, there are still those also use Dutch such as Electricleit Bandoengsche maatschapij was built in 1905. So that people know both the shape of the Building and the name of this building.
