Wednesday Walk in the park after work

Now that its getting lighter in the evenings, my wife and I having been making it out to one of our local parks after work for some exercise and relaxation which we have both really been enjoying.

We did a few circuits around the park this evening and we caught some nice reflection on the pond just as the light was fading. (Sorry this post has started in reverse, as this was the last pic I took this evening).

With it being spring we are starting to see the early blossoming flowers around the park like these crocuses above (which are bulb plants). Its cool how they have planted these in a strip along the trees. We've also started to see some cherry blossoms starting to flower, and we are already looking forward to going to another park here in the city which has a ton of them, but they dont really come out until April.

Whenever we come to this park we also go to check out the pond as we love seeing all the birds there.

I've been quite surprised this year, because the cignets from last year still seem to be here, when I think they normally disappear for winter. They are pretty big now and are nearly full adult swans - but are still showing some of their darker plumage from when they were chicks and their beaks have not turned yellow yet !

The ducks (mallards) were also making an appearance on the hope that we would be feeding them as we walked by the side of the pond.

Further along we also saw one of the adult swans from last year (the same pair seems to have residence here in this park). You can see the difference to the other pictures of the cignets, as the plumage is a beautiful white and it has the distinctive yellow/orange beak.

So that wraps it up for this evening. I didnt take many pictures, but we really have been enjoying getting back out in the evenings, and are trying to make it out every night for atleast half an hour. Its great to be getting the extra exercise in the evenings now that its getting lighter.

Sorry for the shortish post this week ! All the best from Scotland - cheers @hoosie
