Refresher Hike at Cebu Business Park

I have been living in Cebu City, Philippines for quite some time now. I have relocated here due to work and I have been a busy bee for the past few months. I have forgotten to take a break and spend some more time with myself. One gloomy night, I decided to go on a hike at the grounds of Ayala Mall Cebu City which is famously known as the Cebu Business Park. From my apartment, it was a 20-30 minute walk on the way to Cebu Business Park.

Lahug Sky Walk

During my hike, I had to pass by Lahug's skywalk. This is a safe place for commuters and passers-by for the skywalk is designed to keep people safe while passing by the streets. I had to pass one as well. Safety is a must.

A fun fact about my shoes though, is a Skechers D'Lites Edition I bought for one hundred pesos or two dollars approximately at a local thrift shop at the Lapu-Lapu Market when I visited my grandmother. What a great find indeed! When I got the shoes, I knew it was a sign for me to get back on track with exercising.

Who else here loves to go on thrift shopping? I find it practical and so much fun as well!

The University of the Philippines

En route to Cebu Business Park from my apartment, I would pass by The University of the Philippines located at Gorordo Avenue, Lahug, Cebu City. The grounds of the university were well-lighted and had security guards outside. A safe place to pass by while on a hike or a jog.

Almost there

I then reached the back part of the Mandarin Plaza Hotel located at Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Corner N. Escario Street, Cebu City. I am halfway through my destination. I'd just have to pass a flyover and then reach the Ayala Mall.

The Archbishop Reyes Avenue Flyover - Cebu City

I then reached The Archbishop Reyes Avenue Flyover which I need to pass through to get to the Ayala Mall. I passed through the pedestrian lane to make sure I would pass through the road safely and soundly. Safety is my utmost priority in this hike.

Halfway There

For us Filipinos, we all know how essential PAG IBIG is to all of us. This building at the left corner is the PAG IBIG Region 7 building, it is a government agency we Filipinos know of. On the right side, is a bank and a building for business process outsourcing companies. This is the entrance of the Ayala Mall if you are coming from the Lahug area.

Ayala Center Cebu

I have finally reached The Ayala Center in Cebu. Ayala Center Cebu is one of the biggest shopping malls in Cebu City which offers a wide variety of retail, dining, and leisure options. There is a place designated for walkers on the side of the street. It is roofed as well. Great way to protect people from the heat of the sun or the raindrops during the rainy season.

Modern Day Heroes

Just right outside the Ayala Center Cebu Public Utility Vehicles Terminal, you will see the parking area for the bicycles used by a famous food delivery company. I am quite amazed to see people striving to provide for their families and loved ones in one of the most decent jobs. Also, kudos to this food delivery company for accepting employees using their bicycles to deliver food. Not everyone has the luxury to afford a motorcycle.

Emergency Responder at the Cebu Business Park

While entering the Cebu Business Park, I saw this ambulance. There were security guards in the area as well. It is safe to say they are more than ready to face unforeseen circumstances. Hats off to all our brave emergency responders and security guards making sure we all maintain peace and security in the area.

Joggers and Hikers at the Cebu Business Park

Even though I went here alone, I felt less alone when I saw these other people who jogged and hiked. I had so much company. I truly understand why people love to jog or hike here in the Cebu Business Park. The place is safe, the roads are large enough to cater to multiple vehicles or joggers and hikers, and the place has fresh air and well-maintained surroundings. You'll see none to zero trash at all. Everyone is a responsible hiker and jogger. People are keeping the place as clean as possible.

Surveillance Cameras over the Cebu Business Park

One thing I love about hiking here at the Cebu Business Park is not just they have emergency responders, they have security guards all over they also have surveillance cameras in the area. I felt secure in the place. This hike at the Cebu Business Park is my first, and definitely not my last. I will surely return here soon.

Cyclers Spotted

I have seen many people riding their bicycles. I envy them so much because back in our province, I used to ride the bike most of the time. It is one of my favorite sports. The Cebu Business Park is a perfect place to practice biking, or even practice riding a motorcycle because the roads are huge enough.

Quality time with Loved Ones

The Cebu Business Park is the perfect place not just for hiking or jogging, it is also a perfect spot just simply to sit on the green grass, relax, and talk about life.

This hike made me appreciate the place so much. I may be living in a highly urbanized area, but I am glad to discover this place which makes me feel a lot more like home. So much green grass and so much fresh air. I will definitely go on a walk or even a jog some other time.
