It is the first Friday of the month of February, this day is already ending. This post is my daily record, in which I comment on both my day-to-day things and some of the ephemeris of #History that corresponds to today. For personal things, nothing interesting has actually happened, I have worked from home, I have had electrical service and Internet signal most of the day, that is a very good thing and it is the kind of day that in my current #Venezuela is like a godsend, at least for where I'm living.
As for the anniversaries, today is International Lawyer's Day, a date established to honor people who are dedicated to legal activities in favor of their clients, a profession that has so many stories and anecdotes that several books can be published at once. In this regard, in fact, an anecdote that is attributed to Columbus comes to mind, during his voyages of Discovery and colonization of the current American continent, at the service of the Spanish Empire, it is a request that he left in writing that allowed no lawyer to move to the new lands he was exploring, as they were people who tended to cause conflicts and problems around them to profit from litigation, he considered them on a par with the serpent from the book of Genesis in the Bible Christian.

Es el primer viernes del mes de febrero, está ya terminando este día. Este post es mi registro diario, en el que comento tanto un poco de mis cosas del día a día como de alguna de las efemérides de la #Historia que se corresponde con el día de hoy. Para las cosas personales, en realidad no ha pasado nada interesante, he trabajado desde casa, he tenido servicio eléctrico y señal de Internet la mayor parte del día, eso es algo muy bueno y es la clase de día que en mi #Venezuela actual es como un regalo del cielo, al menos para donde yo estoy viviendo.
En cuanto a las efemérides, hoy es el Día Internacional del Abogado, una fecha instaurada para honrar a las personas que se dedican a las actividades jurídicas en favor de sus clientes, una profesión que tiene tantos cuentos y anécdotas que se pueden sacar varios libros al respecto, de hecho, me viene a la memoria una anécdota que se le atribuye a Colón, durante sus viajes de Descubrimiento y colonización del actual continente americano, al servicio del Imperio Español, se trata de una petición que dejó por escrito de que no se permitiera que ningún abogado se mudara a las nuevas tierras que estaba explorando, pues eran personas que tendían a provocar conflictos y problemas a su alrededor para sacar ganancias de los litigios, él les consideraba a la par de la serpiente del libro del Génesis de la Biblia cristiana.

De hecho, esa imagen (entre crítica y cómica) del abogado truculento, despiadado, de ética flexible y acomodaticia (si es que tiene alguna ética o moral) ha dado lugar incluso a famosos personajes de la literatura, el cine y la televisión. En lo personal, yo he tenido mis conocidos dentro del mundo jurídico y sé que es igual que todas las profesiones, siempre puedes encontrar gente que se dedica de buena voluntad a su trabajo y gente que es una víbora ponzoñosa y causa toda clase de problemas.
El trabajo del #abogado no es siempre grato, claro que depende del área laboral en que se desempeñe, pues un abogado litigante bien puede tener mas problemas internos que resolver que un abogado mercantil, pero ambos enfrentan siempre el propio cuestionamiento ético acerca de que tan lejos van a llegar por sus clientes, incluso si saben que eso que se suele llamar ‘justicia’ no es una cualidad que sirva para designar a sus propios clientes en todas las ocasiones. Aunque después de todo, el sistema jurídico humano se dedica a lo ‘legal’, no necesariamente a lo ‘justo’, aunque sería ideal que ambas cosas se solaparan lo suficiente y fueran casi sinónimos.

Pero, hay que aceptar la realidad, el mundo no es tan bonito (aunque a mí me alegra mucho que el mundo tampoco sea tan feo como se podría poner en un futuro distópico). Bueno, creo que le registro me va a quedar así de breve, porque ya estoy teniendo problemas de señal otra vez. Te deseo que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
