It was a peculiar day, I checked the #history to see what ephemerides we had, and I found that: Today is International Jokes Day... a proposed date to make jokes and make people laugh. I really did not expect it, I live in a Latin country with Spanish heritage, so I almost always associate having a day for pranks with December 20, which is traditionally Inocenses Day and it is customary to make jokes and give fake but funny news Anyway, reviewing the reason for what caused this particular day, I found that it had to do with the Anglo-Saxon celebration of April's Fools Days.
Fue un día peculiar, revisaba la #historia para ver que efemérides teníamos y me encontré con que: Hoy es el Día Internacional de las Bromas... una fecha propuesta para realizar bromas y hacer reír a la gente. De verdad que no me lo esperaba, vivo en un país latino con herencia española, así que casi siempre asocio eso de tener un día para bromas con el 20 de diciembre, que tradicionalmente es el día de los inocentes y se acostumbra hacer bromas y dar noticias falsas pero jocosas. En fin, revisando el motivo de lo que ocasionó este día en particular, me encontré que tenía que ver con la celebración anglosajona del April's Fools Days

Looking a bit for the origin of this celebration, I found a version that says that in the middle of the 16th century, the New Year was celebrated from March 25 to April 1, but the French monarch Charles IX moved the date to the first day of January by a decree of Roussillon. To be honest I wasn't expecting this backstory, I had no idea that the new year started in different months in times past, but it makes sense if I think about it according to the change of seasons, like this, every new spring was a new year, perhaps from there comes the phrase that is still customary in some places that when asking a young girl about her age, her answer is celebrated by saying that she has turned spring, an example would be with respect to the traditional 15-year-old party, which sometimes the young woman is congratulated for her 15 Springs. In truth, I had never noticed it.
By the way, I left aside the common phrase in my registry, that we are on day 749 since the #Quarantine was announced in #Venezuela due to the #Covid19 #Pandemic, without having a very clear end in sight, although I read the news that there is a study of a medicine that can treat cases of the disease in a period of three days, that would be an advance and (if confirmed) it would constitute the first medicine for its treatment in a short time. I sincerely hope that the studies move forward.
Well, personally, I have a calm day, at home, everything is relatively calm. I was able to talk to my sister on the phone and that brightened my afternoon with a couple of good news. Anyway, I wish you a good weekend and that we can read again another time.

Buscando un poco el origen de esta celebración, me encontré una versión que dice que a mediados del siglo XVI, se festejaba el Año Nuevo desde el 25 de marzo al 1 de abril, pero el monarca francés Carlos IX realizó el traslado de la fecha al primer día de enero mediante un decreto de Roussillon. Siendo franco no me esperaba esta historia de fondo, no tenía mucha idea de que el año nuevo se iniciara en meses distintos en tiempos pasados, pero tiene sentido si lo pienso de acuerdo con el cambio de estaciones, así, cada nueva primavera era un nuevo año, quizás de allí viene la frase que aún se acostumbra en algunas partes de que al preguntar a una jovencita por su edad se le celebra su respuesta diciendo que ha cumplido primaveras, un ejemplo sería con respecto a la tradicional fiesta de 15 años, que en ocasiones se le felicita a la joven por sus 15 Primaveras. En verdad que nunca lo había notado.
Por cierto, dejé de lado la frase común de mi registro, eso de que estamos en el día 749 desde que se anunció la #Cuarentena en #Venezuela por la #Pandemia de #Covid19, sin tener muy claro un fin a la vista, aunque leí la noticia de que se tiene un estudio de un medicamento que puede tratar los casos de la enfermedad en un lapso de tres días, eso sería un avance y de ser confirmado constituiría el primer medicamento para su tratamiento en tiempo breve. Deseo sinceramente que los estudios avancen.
Bien, en lo personal, tengo un día calmado, en casa, todo en relativa calma. Pude hablar con mi hermana por teléfono y eso me alegró la tarde con un par de buenas noticias. En fin, te deseo que tengas un buen fin de semana y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
