Monday is coming to an end, despite everything it has been a calm day, it is the beginning of the work week and until a while ago I was thinking about what to do to record the day. We are already celebrating 983 days since that Friday in March 2020 when the #Quarantine was declared in #Venezuela due to the #COVID-19 #pandemic, so far it has not made me directly sick, but people close to me have been sick and not It has been good, luckily, the cases did not go to the worst end and the majority recovered, although they comment that they had sequela of the disease that affect their current lives a bit.
I thought for a while about making my writing today focused on the national anniversary that today in Venezuela is the Day of the University Student, a date that commemorates the strike declared by #students from the Central University of Venezuela and the Andrés Bello Catholic University, in 1957, as a protest against the dictatorial regime of Marcos Pérez Jiménez and the plebiscite that had the purpose of granting him a new period of government under a veneer of dubious legality, these actions unleashed the expected violent repression by the dictatorship, and it can be said that it was one of the factors that led to the coup d'état of 1958, on January 23, which removed the dictator from power and began the republican, democratic and partisan period; government system under national agreement and with periodic elections that gave political alternation to the high government, a situation that lasted until the end of the 20th century and gave way to the current system of government that is oriented towards a Socialism of the 21st Century, and currently the idea of alternation by election of a president of some faction other than that of the current government party is something that is hindered from the government itself and there is the case that there is no way for them to hand over power.

Está terminando el día lunes, a pesar de todo ha sido un día calmado, es el inicio de la semana laboral y estaba hasta hace un rato pensando acerca de que tema hacer el registro del día. Estamos ya cumpliendo 983 días desde aquel viernes de marzo del 2020 en que se declaró la #Cuarentena en #Venezuela por la #pandemia de #Covid19, hasta ahora no me ha enfermado directamente, pero gente cercana a mí sí que ha estado enferma y no ha sido bueno, por suerte, los casos no fueron al peor final y la mayoría se recuperó, aunque comentan que les quedaron secuelas de la enfermedad que afectan un poco sus vidas actuales.
Pensé por un rato hacer mi escritura de hoy enfocada sobre la efeméride nacional de que hoy en Venezuela es el Día del Estudiante Universitario, una fecha que conmemora la huelga declarada por estudiantes de la Universidad Central de Venezuela y la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, en 1957, como protesta al régimen dictatorial de Marcos Pérez Jiménez y el plebiscito que tenía como finalidad otorgarle un nuevo periodo de gobierno bajo un barniz de dudosa legalidad, estas acciones desencadenaron la esperada represión violenta por parte de la dictadura, y se puede decir que fue uno de los factores que llevó al golpe de estado de 1958, que en el 23 de enero, sacó del poder al dictador y dio comienzo al periodo republicano, democrático y partidista; sistema de gobierno bajo acuerdo nacional y con elecciones periódicas que daban alternancia política al alto gobierno, situación que duró hasta fines del Siglo XX y dio paso al sistema actual de gobierno que se orienta hacia un Socialismo del Siglo XXI, y en la actualidad la idea de alternancia por elección de un presidente de alguna facción distinta a la del actual partido de gobierno es algo que es obstaculizado desde el mismo gobierno y se tiene el caso de que no hay manera de que entreguen el poder.

However, despite how interesting the reflections on this date in the #History of Venezuela might be, I preferred to comment a little on the most intimate and personal fact that today my father came home to visit. I know it's not of the same historical impact, but it's a personal choice.
My father and I haven't been together much to talk on the phone because of my peculiar work schedules, it usually happens that when he calls, I'm 'unavailable', and it also happens that I don't leave the house much unless it's strictly necessary, like this We don't see each other on the street either. He is a very active man and staying locked up in his house is something he doesn't even do sick, even though he is a couple of decades older than me, he is very active and lively.
It was good to talk to him for a long time, in fact, it was only after he left that I sat down at the computer to check what was going on in the world. It may seem that my record today is too personal, but I would like to say that it was a day that I enjoyed and that leads me to recommend that you try to contact your family and close friends whenever you can, today I noticed how distanced I have been from all my people and I have been thinking that this is not the right thing to do, I have to change things and the father's visit has given me that to think about.

Sin embargo, a pesar de lo interesante que pudiera resultar las reflexiones en torno a esta fecha de la #Historia de Venezuela, preferí comentar un poco sobre el hecho más íntimo y personal de que hoy mi padre vino de visita a casa. Sé que no es del mismo impacto histórico, pero es una elección personal.
Mi padre y yo no hemos coincidido mucho para hablar por teléfono por mis peculiares horarios de trabajo, suele pasar que cuando él llama, yo estoy ‘indisponible’, así como que también sucede que no salgo mucho de casa si no es estrictamente necesario, así que tampoco nos vemos en la calle. Él es un hombre muy activo y quedarse encerrado en su casa es algo que ni enfermo lo hace, a pesar de que tiene un par de décadas más de edad que yo, él es muy activo y vivaz.
Fue bueno conversar con él un largo rato, de hecho, fue solamente después de que se fue que me senté en la computadora para revisar que pasaba en el mundo. Puede parecer que mi registro de hoy es demasiado personal, pero me gustaría decir que fue un día que disfruté y que me lleva a recomendarte que trates de contactar a tus familiares y amistades cercanas siempre que puedas, hoy noté lo distanciado que he estado de toda la gente mía y he estado pensando que eso no es algo correcto, debo cambiar las cosas y la visita de padre me ha dado eso para pensar.
Procura retomar el contacto con tu gente, nunca sabes lo que puede suceder en un futuro, y el arrepentimiento por lo que pudiste hacer y no hiciste es algo demasiado desagradable de sentir. Bien, dejemos este registro de hoy, que ya tomó un tono intimista que es propio de un viejo que le da consejos a un joven (risas personales), te deseo que tú estés bien, que puedas vivir sin arrepentimientos y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
