Stop thinking about how you want otherpeople to see you an pay more attention to your life. It good to build a good reputation, make people proud of you and being recognized by others but that is not all about life, it will all be useless if you pay a little attention to yourself in some aspects, do what you really want to do and live your dream so that you won't be sorry for yourself later on.
No matter what, you will keep on growing and learn some of the things you were not taught. Every teacher teach their student how to come first but they forget to teach them how to rise after a failure and that, we have to learn it on our own and that is part of living. People can not be proud of you every time, they will get disappointed at some point so don't try so hard to impress others and work more on yourself.
