Thursday morning came with a lot of excitement for me because we had heavy rain Wednesday night. The heat and sleepless night was gone and my long awaited time arrived. Yes, for months, I was unable to uproot my casava because the ground was so dry so it requires enough strength to do that.

To avoid putting my health under such stress, I decided to buy garri in the market waiting for rain to come. Thursday was the day, I quickly prepared for school and to visit my patient who is living close to our school. By 4pm, we closed and as soon as I reach home, I went to the farm with my children and my sister.

It was an evening of joy as we bring out the natural blessings with ease. My sister was so happy and she said, aunty, we will plant again this year. Yes, it is good to plant, water and as we know, God make it grow.

We all joined hand that night and peel the casava, and Friday morning, my children washed it and took to the Man who use to grind casava. Although the price was high because of high cost of diesel in Nigeria, we paid him 2k, get firewood 2k. All this to make arrangement for Saturday morning when the garri will be fried.

It is now time to fry the garri. Everyone in the house was ready to make it happen. Seriously, the price of garri as of yesterday in my city was 6 cups 1k. Who will not like to assist for us to make our own food without asking how much.lol

You can see that it was a combined effort to get the work done. My children were happy that they did it. In fact, they did not allow me to stress myself but finished the work all alone. We are happy and greatfull to God who is the giver of every good thing.
