Hassle of No Internet Connection | Alive Video Masters Series

Hello and welcome to Team Alive. You can also join us on wearealiveand.social. I'm continuing on this Alive Video Masters series to assist new and upcoming members taking part in the #iamalivechallenge and #aliveandthriving. Shoutout to @flaxz, founder and organizer of @wearealive tribe on Hive.

It has been a week since my Internet got busted. That was midday Saturday last week. šŸ˜ž Since then, we got two separate visits from PLDT tech guys. Sadly, both visits yielded no results. My phone line as well as fiber connection are both dead. Such a hassle on my part 'coz I work from home due to mobility issue. I need the aid of a cane esp. when I'm going up and down the stairs. I think my body system got overloaded that I had to skip work yesterday (Friday) as I had trouble getting up, let alone walk around even with a cane. Thankfully, I got rested that I was able to make it to the boss's home office for staff. I'd say my own work space at home is more comfortable since I did invest in the right furniture for it. I'm also my personal home pc is more modern that it could connect via mobile data hotspot. Right now, that's what I'm using whether on my mobile or my pc. That way, my Hive activities are uninterrupted.

āœØ Bonus: I tested the website where we login from work as well as the printer and connected it to my personal home pc. Looks like it works fine. I was also able to connect my iPad for work with the mobile data hotspot. It looks like for now, I'm good to go to start working from home again next week. I do wonder how much more expensive my mobile data expenses will be. Nonetheless, what's important is I have learned to find alternatives. āœØ

Eventually, I do plan to change Internet service providers. We just need to check whether there's a lock in period for the fiber connection. It's usually 24 months, and we have yet to reach a year on this connection. We can also opt to drop the landline all together since we hardly use it anyway except for the Internet. We'll see...

I did report the issue once again when I saw that I couldn't track the previous service ticket anymore. I got a new ticket and had to wait in queue (around 56 pax long). I was too glad to wait in line as I've been inconvenienced much anyway and had the time to complain. LOL! šŸ˜ Still hoping the issue gets resolved and we get some rebate for the lost time that we paid for the service.

I must admit I did learn a thing or two about connectivity. It's my first time to try connecting via hotspot too. It's important to have alternatives so I wouldn't miss out on important online tasks that I needed to accomplish. I will continue to scout for the best and most cost effective solution so it wouldn't break the bank, so to speak.
