Mindful Monday : Life's Choices

Happy start of the week! Although a part of me still wishes for a longer weekend 😂🤣 choices.. They are part of our daily lives. Indeed, why do we choose the things we do? Why did I choose this topic? I just felt like looking back to a year ago when I made a choice to commit being a cat mom.

The journey started as an accident. Mom saw MingMing, mother of all cats, pregnant and scavenging in the trash. She took pity and started feeding the preggy cat. Well, MingMing gifted Mom her four kittens that time -- Inni, Mini, Miny, Mowe. Of the four, Mowe chose to be the indoor cat. She goes out but always comes home. Then, Mowe had Bon. Did you watch the short clip above? Well, I started helping Mom with cat supplies, buying some of the stuff like cat food, litter boxes, and litter sand. I also took on the task of cleaning up. I wasn't much of a cat mom. The only pet I had growing up was a dog. Yup, I'm a dog person. At least, I used to be one. 😹😹

Well, Mom's no longer with us, but the cats are here to stay. Let's just say I have less free time on my hand as there's always pet stuff to do - feeding, cleaning, etc. Looking at Bon's baby photos, I still can't believe how much he has grown in a year. It leaves a warm feeling in my heart. The family has grown with Grumpy's four kittens now staying indoors as well. Some days are better than others. For all that it's worth, I'm thankful for the cats' company. They make me forget about being sad, but I do get physically tired at times.

Look at Bon trying out the oven. He's too lovable. 😻😻 he's a good kitty. I just wish he'd let me hug him. 😹😹

We are shaped by the choices we make. I chose this path and might as well stick to it. There's always something to look forward to.. One day at a time..
