INTRODUCTION

  • WARM GREETINGS ALL

Hi, let us continue our conversation and discussion on cassava and it's many uses. In this part of my country, the major food staple is made from cassava, other parts of the country uses it in many different ways. Our spot light today is on Brazil and Tapioca crepes made from cassava plants.

The cassava roots are harvested, they are pillef then grated, it is pressed to separate the liquid from the solid. Starchy mass can be used in many different ways- Indians used Tapioca as a staple food. The Portugues settlers found Tapioca to be a good substitute for bread. Few years ago Brazilian Chefs decided to convert it into a trendy item on their resturant menu.
