If by chance in the future organ donation were mandatory, what would society be like? How would people react to this obligation? Could it be something bad or good? I believe it depends a lot on how all this would be handled. Would it be a crime if I did not accept such a condition? There are many difficult questions, but we can think and imagine what all this would be like, can't we? A world where organ donation was mandatory would be something interesting, to say the least.
On the positive side, organ donation is something that constantly saves many lives. We can say that it is a cycle where the death of some can represent life for others, and in that sense it is something really great to think about. Today we have the option of choosing whether or not to be an organ donor (at least in Brazil that is how it is), but if a decree were passed that would oblige everyone to donate their organs, it could help many other people live longer and better, people who are really in need and who spend years suffering in waiting lists.
In this way, many people would escape this state of waiting, suffering and pain and could return to having a normal life, by donating these organs. This is a good thing in my opinion, especially because there are many campaigns that try to convince people to join the donation of organs, after all, everyone knows how important this act is. Therefore, a law that made this mandatory could save many, many lives, that is something we know for sure and that we can imagine.
UnsplashOn the other hand, we would violate the right to choose, the freedom to be able to choose what we want to happen to our body after our end, so as much as it is a beautiful act to do, helping other people with what is left of my body, many people are still reluctant to allow this, I confess that I even have thoughts like this. Should I donate my organs? Should I not? What will it be like? How would my family react? So, from this perspective, I think it would be bad to force something like this. As a defender of freedom, I think that this type of law should not exist.
Nowadays, we already have too much government and too few people, and for me, it should be the opposite. We cannot let the government control our lives any further, and this even includes decisions that would be good for everyone. It is controversial, isn't it? I completely agree with that. It is all very strange, because even though a law or decree seems to have 100% positive results, I believe that we should not force people to follow it in order to obtain this result. We have the right to choose what we want to happen to us.
Now thinking about how things usually work, it would certainly be a crime if the person did not sign a document stating that the donation could be made by their family members. There would certainly be fines, arrests and many other things like that. After all, that is what the government does: it creates new laws all the time to be able to charge more and more money from the people. So, we know that in the end, this law requiring donation would not be so puritanical and would instead be another opportunity to charge more taxes and fines.
It is a delicate subject. On the one hand, it seems like a great solution if everyone were required to donate their organs, but I continue to firmly believe that this action should be a choice and not an obligation. We will see if this will change someday in the future.

Se por acaso em um futuro a doação de órgãos fosse obrigatória, como seria a sociedade? Como as pessoas reagiriam a essa obrigatoriedade? Poderia ser algo ruim ou bom? Acredito que depende muito da forma como seria tratado tudo isso, seria um crime se eu não aceitasse tal condição? Existem muitas perguntas difíceis, mas podemos pensar e imaginar como seria tudo isso, não podemos? Um mundo onde a doação de órgãos fosse obrigatória seria algo no mínimo interessante.
Por um lado positivo, a doação de órgãos é algo que constantemente salva muitas vidas, podemos dizer que é um ciclo onde a morte de alguns pode representar vida para outros e por essa parte é algo realmente ótimo de se pensar. Hoje temos a opção de escolher ser ou não doador de órgãos (pelo menos no Brasil é assim), mas se surgisse um decreto que obrigaria no caso a todos a doar seus órgãos saudades poderia fazer com que muitas outras pessoas vivessem mais e melhor, pessoas realmente necessitadas que passam anos sofrendo em filas de espera.
Desta forma, muitas pessoas saíram desse estado de espera, sofrimento e dor e poderiam voltar a ter uma vida normal, com a doação destes órgãos. Isso é algo bom no meu pensamento, até porque existem muitas campanhas que tentam convencer justamente as pessoas de aderirem à doação de órgãos, afinal, todos sabem da importância deste ato. Portanto, uma lei que fizesse essa obrigação poderia salvar muitas e muitas vidas, isso é uma certeza que temos e que podemos imaginar.
UnsplashPor outro lado, iriamos ferir o direito de escolhe, a liberdade de poder escolher o que queremos que aconteça com nosso corpo após o nosso fim, então por mais que seja um ato lindo de se fazer, ajudar outras pessoas com o que ficar do meu corpo, muitas pessoas ainda relutam em permitir isso, confesso que até mesmo tenho pensamentos deste tipo. Devo doar meus órgãos? Não devo? Como será? Como minha família iria reagir? Então por este lado acho que seria ruim obrigar algo desse tipo, como defensor das liberdades, penso que esse tipo de lei não possa existir.
Hoje em dia já temos muito estado e pouco povo e para mim tem que ser o contrário, não podemos deixar o estado controlar mais ainda nossas vidas e isso inclui até mesmo decisões que seriam boas para todos. É controverso não é? Concordo plenamente com isso, é tudo muito estranho, pois por mais que uma lei ou decreto pareça ter 100% de resultados positivos, acredito que não devemos obrigar as pessoas a seguir isso para obter esse resultado. Temos o direito a escolha, ao que queremos que aconteça conosco.
Agora pensando em como tudo costuma ser, com certeza haveria crime se a pessoa não deixasse assinado que essa doação poderia ser feita ou com seus familiares, com certeza haveria multas, prisões e muitas coisas do tipo, afinal é isso que o estado faz, cria novas leis o tempo todo para conseguir cobrar mais e mais dinheiro do povo, então, sabemos que no fim essa lei de obrigar a doação não seria tão puritana e sim mais uma oportunidade de cobrar mais impostos e multas.
É um assunto delicado, por um lado parece ser uma ótima saída se todos fossem obrigados a doar seus órgãos, mas, eu continuo acreditando firmemente que essa ação deve ser uma escolha e não uma obrigação. Veremos se isso mudará algum dia no futuro.
