I am here again to enliven the flagship contest held by the Hive Learners community, in the 2nd edition on Week 21 this time it gives us the opportunity to tell our own stories, where we get only $20 money on weekends and are required to be able to spend it. What can I do with $20 in my area to enjoy the weekend. Are you curious? let's see the story that I will share with you all.
$20 is quite a lot for me, therefore it is impossible for me to spend it alone, for that I will take my partner for a walk and enjoy the tourist attractions in my area. I thought about going to the Takengon area because there are quite a lot of tourist attractions that we can enjoy. Takengon is a place that is located in a highland area so the weather there feels cold compared to where I live now. The journey is also quite far, we have to travel more than 100 kilometers to get to the city center, the path we take is also quite extreme because the road is steep and high and there are several points of the road that are prone to landslides so we have to be very careful when go there. However, all our efforts will be paid off when we get there, because the scenery there is very good and there are many unique tourist attractions that we can enjoy.
To start the trip, initially I will fill up my motorbike with gas Rp. 50,000, about $3.5 dollars, that's enough for my trip there and a little walk there. We will immediately leave there in the morning so that we have more time to be there. We started the journey from home to the Takengon area, in the middle of the trip we would stop at a place called Gunung Salak while taking a break and enjoying the scenery in my area which is surrounded by hills and very shady trees, from our funds we can feel the temperature starting to cool so when we stop by we will enjoy a cup of coffee to warm our bodies. The price is around IDR 25,000, which is equivalent to $1.5 because we all bought mineral water to prepare if we were thirsty on the way because our journey was still very far. After a short break while enjoying coffee and the scenery there we continued our journey to Takengon.
Long story short when we get there, the first destination you will go to is Lake Lut Tawar, which is one of the favorite places for tourists when they come there. When we got to the edge of the lake we would look for a place to stop and eat because when we got there it was already a bit late so we stopped for lunch. For lunch we will spend about IDR 100,000 around $6.5 for two people including drinks and snacks that we eat there.
After eating and resting for a while we will continue our journey around the lake and go to one of our favorite places to take pictures in the area because the scenery is good because there we are clearer to see the lake surrounded by hills towering into the sky. To enter the place, you will be charged a fee of Rp. 15,000, equivalent to $1 for one couple, including vehicle parking fees.
After having fun there while taking pictures and enjoying the scenery there we decided to go home because it was almost afternoon. Before going home we took the time to stop at one of the places called Pantan Terong, coincidentally when we came back past that place, but to get there we had to pass a very steep road because the place was attached to one of the high hills there. From that place we can enjoy the view of the city of Takengon and Lake Lut Tawar from a height. The scenery there will be very nice when the weather there is sunny if the weather is a bit cloudy especially overcast the scenery there will be covered by a very thick fog so we will not be able to see anything from up there. When entering the tourist spot, a tariff of IDR 15,000 equivalent to $1 includes the cost of parking the vehicle there. Because the place is very high so the temperature there is also very cold so we decided to enjoy a cup of hot sanger coffee to warm our bodies. The day was around IDR 15,000 around $1 for a cup so we ordered for two so it cost IDR 30,000 equivalent to $2.
After being satisfied there we continued our journey to go home. Before we would stop at the gas station to add fuel to the motorbike we were driving for around Rp. 30,000, equivalent to $2. Don't forget to also buy avocados for the family at home because the Takengon area is famous for its high quality avocados. We bought 3 kg of avocado for IDR 40,000 or the equivalent of $2.5 dollars. After all the preparations were done we continued our journey home. We arrived home late at night so when I got home I immediately cleaned myself up and rested because I was tired of walking, which was very tiring but very pleasant for us to feel.
That's the story that I tell on this occasion. According to my calculations, the cost I spent was approximately $ 20, that includes the standard for the cost of a fairly long trip but it all depends on each of us, it could be lower or even higher.
