The movie that got me emotional

It's another lovely prompt from HL community, I love this particular topic because there are a lot of movies that I have watched and they are very touching to the extent that I didn't realize when tears started rolling down from my eyes.*

I am not the type that gets moved by a movie easily, but then I was moved by some movies and I will be sharing one of them for today's prompt. If you want to join the prompt you are free to, so let's get to the main topic which says "The perfect movie".

The movie is titled "Obaram" It's a Nigerian movie and it is not a romantic nor a horror movie but still it got my full attention. I really do not get the English word for Obaram but I know it's an Igbo language and it is something related to blood is thicker than water. I collected the movie from my sister who came to greet me on Friday and immediately after she left my house I quickly watched the movie.

After watching I realized that I shouldn't have watched it before my daily activities because the movie broke me down, I couldn't do anything after watching the movie because it is very disturbing to see a mother abandoned her child.

In the movie, a little young girl finds out that she was pregnant by her poor boyfriend meanwhile she is tired of poverty already because she also comes from a very poor family, so she leaves her boyfriend with the baby without telling him she is pregnant. That was a very wicked act even though she had a reason to do so.

She settled with another rich boyfriend and gave him the baby, the pregnancy was around 8 - 9 months when police officers came to arrest her boyfriend for dealing with drugs and she was left with nothing then she went back to the village to deliver the baby.

The movie started getting into me when she delivered the baby and gave it to an orphanage home."The girl is so mean and wicked to have thought of giving out her child" but then her father didn't allow her to succeed with the plan, he got the baby back but the mother left without looking back. The child grew to know the grandfather as her father and she believed that her mother was dead. One day the man died of high blood pressure that he couldn't treat because he wanted the little girl to take a scholarship exam into a secondary school, so he lied to the rest of the family that he wanted to buy drugs and then use the money to pay for the girl's examination fee.

When the message got to his daughter she came home to bury her dad, and still, she was ready to leave the girl with another person in the family again but nobody was ready to take the girl from her because they knew she would not take responsibility for the little girl.

To cut a long story short she took the girl to the city without putting her to school and one day the drug dealer showed up to claim the child and that was when she opened up that he didn't have a child with her and the little girl got angry because found out that the person who she thought was her sister was her mother so she wanted to know her father as well. She left with anger back to the village while her mother was sleeping and when she woke up, she began to look for her.

I never knew I could cry for a movie like that but I did because no matter how wicked a mother thinks she is, if anything should happen to her child, she will be soft immediately. She later found out that the girl went back to the village so she went there to beg for her forgiveness.

Another part that got my eyes wet was when the mother went to tell the girl's father that he had a child with her and his wife was there listening to the whole story, she couldn't believe everything but they had no choice. Imagine someone came to tell you I have a baby for you after 10 years of breaking up meanwhile, the girl had strong traits of her father.

I don't want to narrate all the movie you should watch it yourself. In the end, the girl forgave her mother but her father didn't know how to accept her because he didn't want his marriage with 2 kids to break meanwhile his wife happened to be the rich one so if he should make any silly mistake he will lose more than a lot and that is such a tangled situation to face in life. A mother should never abandon her child no matter what happens, this movie made me realize that fact.
