Humility is a virtue that cannot be ignored, being humble is being keen to learn, open to criticism, and having a willingness to admit when we are wrong. There is a story of a man who had two sons, but both of them were never in agreement with each other, and that displeases their father, and that was the cause of his ill health, and seeing them this way, he was confused of who to will his company to, so for him to achieve this, he called them together to caution them, meanwhile he expected them to apologize to each other and show a form of remorse for their actions, but on the contrary the second son felt remorse for his actions, while the first son was proud pushing the blame to the brother, meanwhile it was the first son that was the problem, so the father expected him to feel remorse, but instead he was claiming to be right, and that hurt the father the more. So he now opened up and told him of his plans, and the reasons for his actions, but he expressed his disappointment, that he expected him to take responsibility and be remorseful for his actions, so with his actions he can't entrust his company into his hands. Because for the company to run effectively it needs someone who is humble and can take responsibility for their actions. So he handed over the company to the second son to manage.
So humility pays, and it can create opportunities in most cases.

We can also understand humility as a character's strength. As such, it is an essential component of moral character that is manifested in modesty, being empathetic, acknowledging and respecting others at a deeper level, and accurately understanding our limitations as well. Humility has everything to do with our mindset.
