What would you do?

Everyday, new things are happening, things that we probably might not have an answer to at the moment so we go seeking for those answers somewhere else and that is why I’m here today, asking the what would you do question.

I and my friends were gathered outside last night and we all were just chilling and having a random conversation when one of us decided he wanted our opinion on something that was happening in his family.

According to him, there’s this lady who lives with his family ever since they lost their mom. The lady in her early twenty’s was a family friend who volunteered to come help them in anyway she could and the family had welcomed her. She helps them to cook and do any other stuff (mostly kitchen stuff) that the men don’t know how to do.

Along the line during her stay, she fell in love with my friends brother and they both decided to get married soon. There isn’t a fixed date yet but the son had made his intentions clear to both his father and the girl’s mother, both of who agreed to their union.

Fast forward to few weeks later, my friend eldest brother returns home. He had been away from home ever since they lost their mom because he worked in a different state but decided to return home to stay for a while. During his stay, he starts to get close to his younger brother’s wife to be, maybe too close.

The younger brother noticed this and confronted his big bro about it in a brotherly kind of way and his brother promised him that nothing was happening between the both of them, he was just being nice to the lady who decided to come help them even when she didn’t have to.

Long story short, my friend’s brother (the one who had plans to marry her) is thinking of backing off because his big brother is now acting really strange whenever she’s around, almost as if he’s trying to show off in front of her. The eldest brother now yells at the younger brother even for the smallest of things, just to establish the fact that he’s the boss when their father isn’t at home.

Now my friend is asking us what he should do if the girl decides to dump his brother for his eldest brother or if his brother decides to dump her and she goes to the eldest brother.

As for me, my theory is simple. If she can dump one brother for another, who’s to say she won’t repeat the same thing in the future. I feel she shouldn’t even get married to anyone in the family anymore, let her go get a husband somewhere else and leave both brothers alone but as usual, I didn’t say anything and decided to bring the question here instead.

If you were in the position of my friend, what would you do?
