MEASURING ONES INTELLIGENCE THROUGH EDUCATION

Can we really measure one's intelligence through being educated? It's a question that really needs an urgent answer but before going straight to the answer I will have to tell you a little story

My grandfather once told me a story about himself when he was younger before he became an adult, he said to me that I have the opportunity to go to school and get the best education and I shouldn't misuse this golden opportunity. During his time, he was only able to finish primary which was pre-school and couldn't further to high school but then, those who were able to get to that stage could do a lot of things, they could make good use of the little knowledge they had and get a positive results with it. Then studying was genuine, one would study hard to get a better result, he further said that they were still some who couldn't afford to go to school but yet they were able to learn trade and they made very good use of the knowledge they had.

There are lots of graduates who graduated with excellent results but yet, still can't defend it. This brings me to another story, this one happened in my present but I guess this question warrant me to disclose this here. While I was working in a laboratory few years back, a graduate came seeking for job and she submitted her CV for interview, since it was a laboratory job where she get to carryout patent test, she was asked to do a practical interview and I was in the laboratory that day, she couldn't do the basics test that she was told to do and she studied science laboratory technology. I don't want to go further but this simply means that she's a graduate but she didn't have the intelligence to do the practical work that was required.

I'm not saying that being a graduate can't be a means to measure one's intelligence, it can only be a means the do that if such person can make good use of the knowledge thereby yielding a positive results from it. Because they're some people who don't have the opportunity to be educated but yet, they can make good use of the little knowledge they have. Some students even go as far as bribing the lecturers just to have a good grade but they don't have the knowledge about that course.

When you see what most students do just for good grades, you will be afraid to leave your child in such person's hands when you find out that he/she is now a nurse working at the hospital 😂

If a person can make good use of the knowledge he was taught in school, then for sure he's intelligence can be measured through education but if not, it can't be measured. In general, anyone whether educated or not that can make good use of the little knowledge they have, can be said to be intelligent.
