MAKING FOOD CHOICES

Every one agrees that organic foods are the best and it's not what we can debate about. We have organic(natural) and inorganic(processed) foods and these two types of foods have their advantages and disadvantages and it is obvious that the inorganic foods has more disadvantages compared to the organic foods to use.

Over the years, we have come to realize that as the population keeps increasing, the demand for processed foods keeps increasing and due to this increase, it has affected how these inorganic foods are produced.

  • Now, most companies just process these foods with the primary aim of making huge profits so they care little about what they use in producing inorganic products.

  • Since the demand is high, they don't keep to vital details anymore, they just want to make sure their products don't get out of sales.

  • Some companies no longer process fresh goods, they only process the ones that are already getting bad, still for the sole aim of making huge profits.

Now one thing we all need to understand is that, all processed foods are gotten from the natural foods, without the organic foods, there won't be inorganic foods. Have you ever wondered why there is expiration dates attached to these processed foods? Well, it's because the even the preservatives used are also natural products.

Rice is a natural food and when prepared, we add salt and water to make it edible and tasty, now, the rice is no longer natural but a processed food. Hence I said, processed food are gotten from natural foods.

Choosing between natural foods and processed foods is just like choosing between when I was young and now, lol 😂.

WHY DO WE REALLY HAVE TO CHOOSE?


Foods are essential for our day to day survival and we are blessed with food from nature. When we harvest these foods from nature, some times we might be blessed with more food that we can't consume at once, that's when processing comes to play. For instance, we might have killed a full cow and we are not going to consume all of them in one day, we can choose to dry some to avoid bacteria feeding on them. Or we can choose to use it to prepare food that we would keep in the refrigerator or even just wash them and keep them in the refrigerator.

Processed foods are harmful when we keep them in containers, sachet and other things, not that it's the food inside that is harmful but the containers and all. The more we buy canned foods, the more we get more things to dispose and if we don't dispose them properly, it serves as threat to both our lives and that of our ecosystem.

Natural foods are better because you get to make more food from them which end up to be the processed foods.

I don't want to say too much, so I can get more ideas and corrections from you all.

All I'm trying to say is, we are more insecure when we purchase canned foods and dispose them carelessly. The food are not really harmful but they can be when it is taken in excess quantity. We can not do without processing our foods and if we get it done for us by companies and local manufacturers, we should be very careful not to ask for too much by abusing the intake of these foods and not careful enough to recycle properly.


I have ended up saying more again, lol but I hope with these simple explanation you get my points.
