Celebrity Obsession...

I still do not understand why people go crazy at the sight or mention of a celebrity; this act is now a trend in the world today, and it's really annoying if I am being honest. Some years ago, I was watching the Psquare tour compilation and felt like entering the TV to wipe some fans Oriamo cord, especially the female who didn't stop struggling to get on the stage where the artists were performing.

They threw themselves at the artist, and these girls were manhandled by bouncers. It was so bad that their sensitive body parts were exposed, and I was like, "Why?" Do people really need to go to this length just to express their love or show loyalty to these celebrities?

It's so bad that some people even get aggressive when defending your favorite celebrities, they wouldn't hesitate to go physical, and it's really stupid because these celebrities do not even know if you exist or not. I am not trying to be a hater or perfectionist when it comes to celebrity discussion, but there are so many things I believe we shouldn't be doing, especially because of celebrities.

By now, you can tell that I am not a celebrity freak, but that doesn't mean that I don't like or admire what they are doing, I just wouldn't do anything stupid because of them. I see many of these celebrities as normal people and would treat them the same way I would treat every human around me.

I was sitting close to an open bar with some guys in my neighborhood when I mentioned that the hypeman performing there is a friend and classmate in polytechnic, and they were like, If truly I know the guy, why didn't I go there because that's what they would have done? and I was like, Why? To prove my love or what, when I can actually reach to him via chat. They still didn't believe me until I shared some of the pictures I took of the guy.

One thing I realized is that not all these celebrities want their faces out there, some of them want people to see them as normal people, but that can't happen anymore.
I remember a statement Kylain Mbappe made during an interview and really wished a lot of people watched the interview. The real Madrid star mentioned that many times he wishes to just be a regular person at the beach, in a restaurant, and other places but those things are impossible. People gather around immediately they notice a celebrity, and there is no rest until they vacate that premises.

Yes, they are famous, but that doesn't mean we should become unreasonable because of them. The most recent celebrity I met exchanged pleasantries normally, and that was all. We don't have to become dramatic because of that encounter; it's a human I met, not Jesus.

Speaking of showing love to celebrities, it only ends with admiring their performance. You can't see me discuss deeply about them because I will eventually run out of what to say. It will surprise you to know that some of the musicians I listen to, I don't even recognize some of them, not to even talk about knowing their history.

I express my love for them by supporting their work via social media, and that's all. You won't find me doing anything else and it should be the same for everyone, we should all redefine our role as fans. Love and appreciation should be shown in a respectful and reasonable manner.

Most importantly, we should always remember that celebrities are humans too.
