Every individual has their different reasons for joining hive platform which differs based on each person's unique desire. Have been passionate about writing as far back as when I was 14, not just any kind of writing but poetry specifically, Not that I was not capable of engaging in other forms of writing but it never really occurred to me. I started writing poems as a child, when I was not even sure of what it was called but it provides me the avenue of putting down my thoughts in lines in way only I could understand the reason behind does words.

Some children tends to have some kind of diary filled with words and thoughts Which can be easily understood but during my childhood days I was not really the type that likes sharing my thoughts or explaining how I feel. So I preferred to pen down those thoughts in poems, moreover other kids tends to have a reason to hide their diary but I never hid it because I knew not just anyone could interpret the meaning of what I have written. I call it "my thoughts in lines" poems with different titles, occasionally I read it sometimes for my late grandmother, she would laugh despite not really knowing what it means but she enjoyed it regardless.

I continued writing over the years and eventually I started growing courage to share my writings with others, I started with Wattpad, A kind of app where you get to share your writings with others for them to read but not monetary related like hive but eventually I met @Starstrings01, who I knew from school during my National diploma days. He invited me to hive and informed me about added features and advantages of hive unlike any other platform, like I said in some of my write up, I was not really interested in the monetary aspect of hive at first, I just wanted an audience for my writings.

I was not really serious about hive at first, I publish my poems once in awhile occasionally in communities such as blockchain poem and eventually scholar and scribe community but I didn't really get much support at first and I did not really care because I was not really focus on the earnings. later on I went away for about a year and some months but I was not away totally I publish poems once in a month or 2, sometimes 3 πŸ˜….

Most times when I come across @Starstrings01 post on his blog and I comment based on my perspective of the topic he discussed. he was like why don't you join hive learners community to know more about this weekly prompt and share your perspective on them, so I did. sincerely hive learners community is my first greatest discovery on hive blog before any other outstanding communities on hive.

I was really encouraged by the support of the members of the community and their engagement, especially the weekly hangout and community hangout sections, with those two there is no way on earth you can be depressed πŸ˜…, eventually I got introduced to @dreemport which made the whole hive experience more interesting. Based on my interactions with members of different communities and users on the blockchain who have become a part of me over the years I have learnt a lot of things which I can't really categories any of it as the biggest because every lesson made an impact in my life in different areas

LESSONS LEARNT SO FAR ON THE BLOCKCHAIN

  • 1) SOCIALISING & ENGAGEMENT: Like i have explained earlier, I'm not very good at friendly conversations with people especially those I don't know physically. Due to my hive experience so far this part of me has become better because 90% of people I engage with on hive are strangers, which has made an impact on my communication skills in reality, people around me have noticed, they often think I'm possessed due to my extraordinary sense of humour these daysπŸ˜…

  • 2) EXPLORING DIVERSITY OF CRYPTO CURRENCY: The truth is, anything that has to do with crypto currency is just too complex for my understanding. As you all know hive or HBD is a virtual currency, when the need arises you might need to trade it or swap it with other currency or tokens, which has deepen my understanding of apps such as binance, Roqqu e.t.c Occasionally I now invest in other forms of crypto currency outside hive platform.

  • 3) EXPLORING NEW IDEAS: There are a lot of ideas I have been exposed to due to my constant readership of content from other authors. for instance, I never knew about Canva or discord, most especially Canva, which I have used to design different flyers for business purposes. I have used it to design professional print advert and business cards for peopleπŸ˜…, to an extent I'm considered a graphic designer which is just hyping πŸ˜‚.

  • 4) PROMOTION OF ORIGINAL CONTENT: it is a know rule that plagiarism is not tolerated on hive, which has improved my attitude of valuing original content. during my final year thesis, I quoted and source other authors to further explain my point but the whole explanation in my background to study was entirely my Idea, I also carried out survey through the use of questionnaire distributed to respondents to gather their opinion about my thesis topic because someday I might decide to share some of the findings on hive, which will not be possible if I just copied other people's content.

  • 5) CONSISTENCY & PERSEVERANCE: Consistency is very vital in making progress on hive, ability to keep on performing needed activities consistently. especially when participating in contest and weekly prompt, there are certain deadlines which I need to adhere to and also my activities on dreemport daily. in reality I procrastinate a lotπŸ˜…. As in, I think of a lot of ideas but I don't usually act on them, thanks to my activities on hive which has encouraged my attitude towards performing other activities in reality.

This write-up was inspired by weekly featured content titled "Hive learned" in hive learners community.
