Some people seem to think that when it comes to success, talent is the most important ingredient, they believe that if you are born with a natural gift for something you will automatically be the best at it and achieve your goals. They admire people with such gifts and envy their achievements. Talent can simply be seen as the potential we have within us, talent is what makes us unique and special , it is the spark that ignites our passion and curiosity , it is the seed within us that grows into our vision

Other people believe that skill is the most important ingredient , they see talent as good but not enough to make one successful , they believe that a person has to learn, practice and eventually master the techniques and methods that makes one better at what they do.. Skil can best be seen as the ability we develop through learning and practice . Skill is makes us competent and confident, it is the fire that fuels our performance , it is the tool that shapes our ideas and actions. Skills are usually acquired or learned as opposed to talent which is innate .

Still, others believe that the most important ingredient for success is hardwork, these people are of the view that talent (innate abilities) and skills (learned and mastered abilities) are useless without perseverance and dedication, that is, hardwork. Hardwork is the effort we put into pursuing our dreams and achieving our set goals , it is what makes us resilient and persistent, it is the sweat that drips from our brows and the blood that pumps in our veins
But who is right? I for one do not subscribe to the school of thought of mono-causation , that is, a single factor responsible for the outcome of events which is why I believe all three mentioned above are all important for a person to achieve success in whatever area of life.

Often at times because of the seemingly effortlessness in the way certain individuals achieve their goals we tend to believe and conclude that its just their talent overlooking their skills and hardwork, a popular example comes to mind .

The Messi - Ronaldo debate is one popular and seemingly unending debates we have today, I have heard a lot of times people saying Ronaldo is better and they liked him because he is hardworking while Messi is just talented . But the truth is both Messi and Ronaldo had talent, both of them mastered certain techniques that put them above the rest in their era and both of them are hardworking .

A lot of people has talent and I believe we have met or seen at least one talented person who is not successful, perhaps they didn't improve and build on the talent, they didn't master certain techniques needed, they didn't develop skills and put in that push, that extra work, that resilient, perseverance , that sweat - the Hardwork.

The many talented person we see around us that are not successful and the many hardworking but not successful people we see , the skilful people we see but not successful are all testament or evidence that these factors alone by their self can't be enough for success.

Success is not a simple formula or a linear equation, success is complex and a dynamic process that involves many variables. Talent , skill, and hardwork are all essential for success . We should not be complacent with our talent, don't be arrogant with our skills, and stubborn with hardwork , instead we should be humble, curious and be adaptable and also use our talent, skill and hardwork in harmony to create value, and solve problems
And lastly remember that success is not a destination but rather it is a journey, so, enjoy the ride
