Edition-02 is a great edition, everyone participated and made their best posts, and I became one of the winners, I'm really grateful for that and I couldn't have achieved this without the support and input from everyone in the HIVE LEARNERS community. I'm sure Edition-03 will be much more exciting, with 3 days time, I think there will be many more who will show their best posts in this Contest.

Therefore, this time I will post Contest Edition-02 with the title "Traditional Beliefs", I think this is a good title to know a little about the Traditional beliefs of a society and the reasons behind them. In Indonesia, there are many beliefs, rituals, or things that are considered taboo, especially. And this time I will also discuss exclusively one of the beliefs of the Indonesian people which is still being carried out, for some people in Indonesia.
Let's see my explanation...

Because today is Friday, i want to make an exclusive post about Friday.
I will share some of the beliefs of the Indonesian people about Friday, of course there are many things and stories on Friday in Indonesia where the majority of the citizens embrace Islam, and of course Friday is a big day of the week for Muslims. Islam is marked by special prayers at the mosque. Likewise in Indonesia, a country full of traditions and beliefs, it also has its own cultural perspective on Friday. There are various taboos and good things to do on this day starting from the turn of the day in the middle of the night until the sun sets on the western horizon on Friday. It can be said, Friday is a sacred day in Indonesia.
I will describe what Indonesians believe in starting at night, in the afternoon, and in the evening when the sun has set.

The night of the turn of Thursday to Friday, or commonly known as Friday night in Indonesia.

Friday night is the night where the turn from Thursday to Friday or usually Indonesian people take the benchmark on Thursday when night falls. Friday marked the end of the night the previous day at 00:00 in Indonesia is a mystical night and a night with many mystical practices carried out in it. Actually the peak of mystical things that are believed to be at times like this, namely between Thursday night and when it turns to Friday in the middle of the night.

Usually people who come from Java, Indonesia will carry out unique traditions at this night, such as washing heirlooms, bathing with seven kinds of flowers at midnight, prohibiting roaming in the middle of the night, and strict security at the graves of those who died on Thursdays. For the people of Sumatra, Indonesia, Friday night is a night that they use for self-cleaning, both cutting nails, hair, shaving mustaches and still leaving beards on Thursday afternoons to welcome Friday night. People in Sumatra, including Aceh, consider the turn of the night from Thursday to Friday to be a night to perform special worship which is usually held in places of worship such as mosques, such as recitation, evening prayers, and remembrance.

People in Indonesia also strictly prohibit activities such as cutting or pulling out parts of the body when it's nighttime, it's better to do it before tonight, sewing clothes at night, and wandering around and this applies in all regions in Indonesia, if you go to Indonesia. Indonesia you must respect this prohibition in Indonesia.
The sound of a dog howling, a rooster crowing, a cat roaming around and looking intently at a place, and also the sound of a very loud gecko in one corner of the room and lasting for a long time, are bad signs that are believed by the Indonesian people. I will not go into detail about this because it relates to mystical things and is very sensitive.

Midday on Friday

You all know that Muslims doing special worship on Fridays, and this also applies in Indonesia. The Midday atmosphere on Friday in Indonesia is very quiet, the streets that were once busy have become quiet for a moment. Even for women who do not doing Friday prayers, they are prohibited by their husbands or fathers from roaming outside the house or doing any activity when the Friday prayer process in the surrounding mosques has not been completed. They are also prohibited from entering the empty garden area on this Friday. Therefore, women and mothers in Indonesia go home and prepare all their homework before 12 noon, and if they work in the office, they will go home early for that.

Usually in every restaurant in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, it will start operating at noon on Friday and on Friday is one day a week where restaurants in Aceh provide Lamb Curry menu as their main menu. According to them, Friday is a suitable day to serve this one food menu, especially this food should not be eaten by people who have high cholesterol, so they will only provide it on Friday.

Apart from all that, there are also various prohibitions according to Indonesian beliefs during the day on Friday, such as the prohibition on going to sea, doing all activities before noon, and also giving alms on Friday, which is believed to make people who give charity on Fridays to wealth and reward.

Fiday Afternoon

Friday afternoon, usually in Indonesia is considered the right time to pray because it is an efficacious time, therefore sometimes people on Friday afternoon do a lot of worship from other days. When Friday has reached the afternoon, activities usually run normally like other days. But there is still a prohibition on visiting places that are empty and not occupied by anyone and a ban on swimming to the sea or river, and this prohibition will usually be obeyed until the next day.
In the afternoon the shops are bustling like any other day and when night falls it will feel the same as night on any other day, and back to the night as usual.
