We must ensure that the water meets the right conditions.

It is a pleasure to participate again in the theme of the week of the community: Hive Learners.

Water is the vital liquid for all living beings, but we must also be careful or have hygiene when drinking it, so we avoid serious problems to our health. I remember when I was a child the water in my city could be consumed directly from the kitchen faucet, since it complied with the proper conditions of hygiene and health, the color of the water was crystal clear.

But there were also some places in the city where there were domestic filters, since the pipes were made of iron and occasionally some residues were observed. Unfortunately, at present in my city no water is suitable for consumption, because the water contains some residues and there have been cases of people with bacteria from consuming water from the pipe.

What measures do we take to ensure that we consume only the cleanest we can afford? 💦

As I have already mentioned in my city the water is not suitable to use directly for hydration, it is still possible to use it for personal hygiene and to wash some foods, it can be filtered and boiled to remove impurities and be used in cooking some foods.

The best option to consume drinking water is to buy 20 liter bottles that are refillable, the city is full of this type of business, the approximate cost of each bottle of 20 liters is 0.5 dollars. These stores have tanks of water brought from springs and then use different modern methods or devices to process and purify the water, thus eliminating any type of bacteria. That is why it is the best option for people in my city.

I have also seen that in some places far from the city they usually use water directly from springs, that is, natural water, but I am not sure if this is the most adequate, although it should be normal, they also need to periodically evaluate the quality of these waters, since there is the probability that they are affected by contamination.

How do we make our water healthier, cleaner and more affordable for everyone?

For example, in my city there are very large rivers such as the Orinoco and the Caroní, although water is accessible and abundant because there are several mechanisms and systems to distribute water. The big problem has been to obtain water in adequate conditions for human consumption.

My suggestion is to consume water from springs or natural wells, but we must also evaluate the quality of the water, that is to say, we must make sure that the origin and quality of the water is totally consumable. If you are one of the people who consume water from a well you must make sure that the water meets the correct characteristics and if you buy water we must also ensure that it is in a place where hygiene measures are met.

There are also some methods to sanitize water through the use of home filters or products, but we must always investigate if they are healthy or a good option for us. This issue should not be taken lightly, we must try to investigate and make the best decisions according to the country where you live in order to avoid health problems and to have a correct use of water.
