WEEK 6 EDITION 1: My Crypto Journey

Of a truth an adage states that "a journey of a thosand mile begins or ends with one step at a time." I knew about the word "cryptocurrency" as back as the year 2014. During this moment i was new to the crypto space and Cryptocurrency itself haven't gain more traction as it is today. I had a friend we were both at the university who was an investor in btc, he encourage me to buy bitcoin by then. I was more like thinking it was a multilevel marketing stuff and never wanted to get involved in it due to the fact that i really do not have an idea of of what cryptocurrency asset was, so i dashed such an opportunity in the mud. Within a shortwhile, i noticed my friend's networth had grown geometrically and wondered how come he could attain such a huge financial height. Then it later doned on me that he got huge interest in the value of the crypto he bought and hodl. There was a site known be freebitco.in, he was able to accumulate lots of btc through this free bitcoin site through hourly rolling of spins and betting on the platform as well. He finally made up to 3btc in 2016 and that was the moment i realised I'd lost a golden opportunity.

Yes i got registered on the freebitcoin platform and received lots of satoshi as a single rolling of the btc spin. It was able to generate at least 0.000000575 per roll. Despite this huge number of satoshi as at now, i considered it as a waste of time and effort due to its lower or insignificant monetary value as at then. If i had continued i should have made lots of btcs hopefully by now. After i betted with the little satoshis i earned on the platform i lossed all and discoveredit doesn'treally worth my time and data. So i left it and decided to hustle, save more money to get a little crypto of about 0.3btc and hodl for a little while. I noticed the price it was by 2015 was 5times more lesser than the current price when i bought the btc. It was around 4million naira per bitcoin so i spent more to hodl. It was quite unfortunate i wasnt able to hodl for long as i decided to resell it after the price became static for over a year and later declined. Since then i promised never to put my money into btc again till i later did in 2020.

MY MAIN CRYPTO JOURNEY
My main crypto journey started a few months before the year 2020 that the lockdown commenced due to the dreaded covid-19 pandemic. That was the moment i heard of the word "smart contract." Ethereum was very much more affordable than bitcoin as the price was as a little above $50. So i saw it as an opportunity to buy. Since i noticed i might not be patient enough to hodl for long because i wasn't having much more at hand, so i resorted to participating in the forsage ethereum smart contract where i wasn't able to get downliners to help credit more ethereum in my trustwallet balance. My upliner was so terrible as she was after getting more direct downliners rather than helping her followers get at least one downliner too for them. The smart contract started and became less active within the space of 3months as many upliners were self-centered and not ready to extend a helping hand to those below them. So the platform became less active due to the act of greed by most of the leaders who wanted to eat the lionshare of the smart contract. Lionshare ethereum and tron smart contracts came up as well and crumbled at similar capacity. So the revolution began when i discovered the hive blockchain through my cousin @starstrings01.

Hive made my crypto journey seemly easy and possible. I was able to get onboarded, study the blockchain painstakingly and able to publish my first content which was my introductory post. Then i got so familiar with the blockchain, meet with great minds, get to know more about content creations, other smart contracts and dapps. I was also able to get money to buy some altcoins within and outside the hive engine as well. Hive has contributed emmensly to my crypto journey though the journey have not been an easy or smooth one. So we keep moving till now and this shouldn't have been possible without the intervention of God through those who have been a source of support to my posts either manually or by curation-trail. Thank you all 🙏

So here is my brief story and i hope you pick a point from my it. This is my entry to the weekly feature contest for week 6 edition 1.

Thank you for your time and do have a wonderful moment
