PhotoFeed Contest - Landscape Photography #68 : Glaciers in Greenland

The huge glacier in the back groun is the Eqi Glacier. It's located on the western coast just north of Disko Bay. As you see the glacier on the photo, it es 4 kilometers wide and 70 meters high. This is one of the places which gives an easy acces to the ice sheet. There is a small port here – Port Victor. It has been named after the French polar explorer Paul-Emile Victor. After WWII he came here to explore the ice sheet. The port made it possible to come ashore with heavy expedition vehicles. It is easy to get to the ice cap from here. When I took the picture, I myself was on a hike to the ice cap. This photo is my entry to @photofeed contest @photofeed/photofeed-contest-landscape-photography-round-68
