Sightseeing on the Open Top Bus Tours

In my local county of Derbyshire, we have new Peak Sightseer open top buses that will be running until the back end of Oct 2024. You can sightsee in the most popular and prettiest areas of Derbyshire, such as Castleton, Chatsworth, Bakewell, Padley Gorge, and the Monsal Trail.

Even though it was a nice day, it was still a bit windy on the top deck. It was dog friendly, though!

The bus travelled through Chatsworth Park, which is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Chatsworth House is in the distance.

This is the Gardener's Cottage, which is now holiday accommodation. It is a Grade II listed building and was built in the early 19th century. I don't think I dare look to see how much it costs for the week!

The bus travelled down the windy road of Winnat’s Pass. It has been voted the UK's most beautiful drive, and you can see why as you drive down the very scenic limestone gorge.

We've had an abundance of fluffy, white cotton-grass this year on the moors and heaths. It's dying off now, but there's still small batches of it in the distance.

At the Blue John Cavern the purple/blue and yellow mineral, the Blue John stone is mined.

Even though we live in the county, it was still fun and our driver was very
knowledgeable and entertaining.
