International Coffee Day - Impromptu Experience at Old Haunt "Starbucks"

What an exciting Day after a long while.

First thing first is HAPPY INTERNATIONAL COFFEE DAY to fellow coffee lovers, coffee enthusiasts and coffee connoisseur all of the world.
There are 2 connecting events that lead me to create this post as a commemoration for today; ***Tuesday 1st October 2024 ***

First event:
Starbucks happens to be throwing a Coffee Tasting featuring Sumatera Coffee Beans, boasting Arabica coffee blend from places in Sumatera: Mandhailing, Toba, Siborong-borong and Gayo.

The featured Coffee Beans, available globally at any Starbucks store/outlet, Sbux says so...

More on the history of Sumatera coffee can be found at the following links:

Second event:
Also happens that there is an International Coffee Day CONTEST: A Caffeinated Collaboration at my HIVE community Cinnamon Cup Coffee. @cinnccf/international-coffee-day-contest-a-caffeinated-collaboration
I choose to post about:

Choice 2:
Write a note about the influences coffee has in your life. This can be a random compliment, or you could go a little deeper. Maybe you write a letter you'd never dare to send. Maybe it's telling someone a secret you feel you can't share in your real life. Maybe it's a random message of kindness and positivity that you wish to send out into the world. Next, go into your favourite coffeehouse and leave the note somewhere for a stranger to find it. Sometimes, the nicest way to collaborate is by sharing our deepest feelings with another human being. Of course, tell us about it.

Why I choose that subject? Well, maybe because it is simply the closest choice to the topic I have in mind to share here.

For years I have been this brand's customer simply because it campaigns for eco-green long before go-green goes popular and viral. (🤫 Also my sole reason that I have a small collection of Starbucks tumbler from tall to venti in plastic, silicone and metal, but I won't post them here).
When Go Green goes viral, Starbucks actually added one more interesting campaign, which is allowing the customers who like organic gardening to request for after-brew coffee grounds as part of growing media and/or compost mix. For me, I actually used them as pest controller for ants, centipede and aphids, just by adding or sprinkling to the soil directly. (Note: make sure your plant have medium to high tolerance against heat, if not you have to premix the coffee grounds and let it compost entirely before using it for growing media.)

So... let's get back to the main topic of Sumatera Coffee Beans. Mandhailing, Lintong and Gayo are actually my favourite varieties, since they give a bold earthy taste that fits the feeling of autumn at this time of the year (yes, just the feeling. I live where there are only 2 seasons, dry and wet (rainy) season).

I spend less than 2 hours for the Coffee Tasting at Starbucks Reserve Grand Indonesia (https://www.grand-indonesia.com/shopping-directory/starbucks-coffee-2/?location=), that coincides with their attempt to break MURI record (https://muri.org/Website/rekor/, Indonesian version of Guiness World Record)

Sharing some photos from the event itself (yes, I'm included in the photo, too, just not saying which one is me).

Afterwards, I enjoyed a delicious Beef Smoked Quiche and a hot Macchiato, courtesy to Tasty Tuesday Promo

Those pictures summed my day celebrating "International Coffee Day" on 1st October 2024.

Thanks to @cinnccf reminder, I do forget one more important part of the post. A note that I left on the panel wall for a perfect stranger (if any).

Disclaimer: The picture(s) is (are) from my own stocks and shared publication by the Starbucks personnel for blogging purpose. Also, taken some promotional post from Starbucks Indonesia's instagram, just for the purpose of sharing them in this post.
