This Sunday I visited the Cathedral Cafe again with my friend Roberto Fournier. This time the plan was simple: drink Espresso coffee while we worked (because yes, in Santiago we live obsessed with espresso). We had been after this for days, until we were able to achieve it.
Around ten in the morning we met there. Again we were greeted by such a nice decoration and good background music. We took the opportunity to exchange documents, talk about new projects, catch up on gossip and laugh for a while.
I managed to get Roberto to copy some movies that he had stored on his laptop to me. He also lent me the books that Cuban publishers have published for him. I will soon have a pleasant encounter with poetry!
I also sent him a couple of series and movies, and we agreed that we would talk about it soon to practice art criticism (that although we are not experts in cinema, it is always good to equate opinions). I also lent him an edition I had of "The Century of Enlightenment", an outstanding book by Alejo Carpentier, which he would need in his work, since he is an editor at the Oriente Publishing House.
In short: read poetry. Poetry has made me connect with many different worlds since we have come into contact. Among them, the world of coffee. Coffee also helps to connect with others. What a wonderful chain!

VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL
Este domingo visité nuevamente el Café Catedral junto a mi amigo Roberto Fournier. Esta vez el plan era sencillo: tomar café Espresso mientras trabajábamos (porque sí, en Santiago vivimos obsesionados con el espresso). Desde hacía días estábamos detrás de esto, hasta que pudimos lograrlo.
Alrededor de las diez de la mañana nos encontramos allí. Nuevamente nos recibió esa decoración tan agradable y buena música de fondo. Aprovechamos para intercambiar documentos, hablar de nuevos proyectos, ponernos al día con los chismes y reír un rato.
Logré que Roberto me copiara algunas películas que tenía almacenadas en su laptop. También me prestó los libros que le han publicado editoriales cubanas. ¡Pronto tendré un grato encuentro con la poesía!
Yo también le envié un par de series y películas, y acordamos que pronto hablaríamos al respecto para ejercer la crítica de arte (que aunque no somos expertos en cine, siempre es bueno equiparar opiniones). Además le presté una edición que tenía de "El siglo de las luces", un libro insigne de Alejo Carpentier, que él necesitaría en su trabajo, ya que es editor en la Editorial Oriente.
En resumen: lea poesía. La poesía me ha hecho conectar con muchos mundos distintos desde que hemos entrado en contacto. Entre ellos, el mundo del café. El café también ayuda a conectar con otros. ¡Qué cadena tan maravillosa!
