"Coffee, the favorite drink of the civilized world."

Hello there, coffee-and-beverages lovers!

A few weeks ago I had the chance to meet @marlyncabrera to get some pointers and borrow some books. The reason? I'm taking over some courses. As I had said previously in a post about work, this was very much a reality. A good thing is that my getting back on the wagon started with a poetry course.

I also had to give her a plant my mom had prepared for her. The plant had been growing big and beautiful. However, as she's the busiest person I know, it took some time to finally meet for coffee.

She brought books and I brought the plant.

Talk about equivalent exchange.

During the time we were together, at La Panetteria, she delivered an amazing summary of the courses I took with her during my college years. It is basically a run down on the basic elements of an Academic Writing Course. As many would know, this kind of writing has a lot of rules. It isn't the easiest thing to understand if you don't have any background, but going through the knicks and knacks of an English Composition Course helps you organize ideas better.

I wouldn't be able to write my posts if I hadn't taken those classes.

The best part of having this summary? Well, sharing a cup of coffee, sweets and cookies. Having a cup of hot coffee and listening to someone telling you about something they know by heart is the best experience ever. It feels like I were in one of those gatherings during the Enlightenment. Sure, we are not close to weird things like the French Revolution, nor other weird ideas.

Besides, I love to be around my favorite teacher ever. That's also a plus!

I left the bakery with a page with the summary of the course and some ideas about how to present the concepts to the students that are new to the course. Some books to help design the course from the basic level to the essay level. And also spent some time talking about many other things.

It is important to note that the photos have half-empty mugs and not everything is neat. It turns out we remembered to take photos because her niece came around and asked if we had done so. It was a moment to laugh and then take some photos.

So, it's true what they say, if you're having a great time, you forget about anything else. And that is wonderful!
