I wanna come clean from the start. I wasn't drinking coffee that day. That was green tea. Still it is within the realm of caffeinated goods!
My story begins by going to buy some sweets to finish a busy day of studies. My cybersecurity path is going through some steep terrain as I have completed 5 courses already and have 5 more to go. But the topics are getting harder. Which is understandable. As I can remember, that particular day, I had just finished a course on Endpoint Security. To translate, it refers to how people or organizations protect their data. Data that is stored in their devices (endpoints) such as mobile phones, laptops, desktops, and else.
Since I finished and wanted a treat, I went for this thing I have shown before and thought I might find a bomb as good as the last one I had. Everything was nice until I came back and sat with my cup of tea. When I opened the box and started to cut the sweet, I was met with resistance. That could only mean one thing, it wasn't fresh.
I wasn't worried about the filling since they use dulce de leche that tastes a lot like any generic brand. But having stale bread on a bomb sucks. It feels like eating cardboard with something sweet in the middle. Well, I wasn't going to throw it away. After eating have and soothing myself with seeps of green tea, I put the rest away for another day.
There isn't much to learn about these experiences. It is a really bad feeling to buy food to be met with the surprise that it isn't as good as expected. And there isn't a lot that could ruin such a simple dessert.
Anyways, during the reflection time with my tea, I decided not to let this rain on my parade. I had just finished another course and was ready to enroll in the next one. That's a success no dessert can wash away.
I know for a fact that next time, I won't be going back to the same place to buy any sweets. Once a bakery shows me that level of mediocrity, I refrain from buying anything there. Sounds harsh, but I take food too seriously just to be having anything.
I guess it is cool to have something to drink when such things happen. Disappointments taste better if you have tea to sip and let it past.
Or that's what I tell myself.
