Good morning to all coffee lovers. This is my participation in the call made by the community Cinnamon Cup Coffee which consists of creating a story using one of the two options provided. I took the second option:

  • You come across a talking coffee bean.

I hope you enjoy my interesting story. Thanks to my little friend @chacald.dcymt for the invitation, and I would like to invite my friends @brujita18 and @ismaelgranados to this contest.

THE SPIRIT OF COFFEE

Valery was addicted to tea and infusions made with the mixture of various plants, she had done studies on the matter and even marketed these combinations, so she did not commune with coffee, she always maintained that she did not need it in her life, so dispensed with it. Her friends encouraged her to try it and she refused, claiming that it would take away her sleep and she needed to be relaxed.

One morning leaving the bank, she accidentally bumped into a gentleman who was coming in, in the agitated shock she dropped some documents on the floor and the man kindly made a gesture for her not to bend over since he would pick them up, he handed them over and apologized for the awkward moment. When the man of the place left her, Valery was still waiting for transportation there near her and he kindly offered to take her. She accepted because she had been up for a long time without having breakfast and she felt dizzy, but she was not what she used to be. The boy wanted to correct the mishap of minutes ago and invited her to a coffee, but she refused, stating that she only drank tea, that she did not like coffee. In the same way, the man insisted on her invitation even if it was with a cup of tea. He introduced himself and told her that his name was Ernesto.

When they entered the place, there were many posters with phrases related to coffee and all of them were represented by the image of a coffee bean that had a face and limbs. In the place apart from various types of coffee, they served juices, meals, and tea, she was saved. But the most witty thing about the place was a show with a ventriloquist who made a doll in the shape of a coffee bean speak. Valery couldn't believe that, it was that they promoted coffee in many ways.

While Ernesto went to the counter to request the order, Valery stared at the eyes of the coffee bean that rested on the comedian's legs, and she felt that figure had life. He shook his head and looked down, and suddenly the table cloth was lifted and a small figure began to speak to him very softly:

--- Hellooo! Do you hear me? Don't go yelling, I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to talk to you. Can you get me on the table?

It was a coffee bean barely 10 cm long, but it had all the structure that a human could have, except that its body was “a coffee bean”. Valery didn't know what to do, whether to scream or run away, but he risked getting the little character up on the table, he couldn't believe what was happening in front of his eyes. When he was already on the table, he perched on the lid of a sugar jar by crossing his legs, and began an elegant speech:

--- Hi Valerie! I already know you because your friends always meet in this place and have talked many times about you, and about your rejection of coffee. With all due respect, I wish to change your perspective of me. How did I know? It is that I am in all the places where coffee is consumed in the world, I am the Spirit of Coffee, that is why you see that they even made a talking doll of me, to honor me for uniting so many families and friends around the planet. That is why I cannot conceive that a person as nice as you, feels rejection towards something that can provide you with pleasant moments.

The girl could not articulate a single word, she was really perplexed watching and listening to that talking grain. At that moment Ernesto came to the table and seeing her pale and frightened, she asked him what was wrong. Valery turned to see him, and turned his head again pointing to the jar of sugar to indicate the reason for his condition, but there was nothing on the table. He got up to check everywhere, lifted the tablecloth, looked around, but the little talking pimple was no longer there.

For a moment he thought it had been a product of his imagination because of how weak he was, and because of the ventriloquist's impression and his show. Yeah, that was probably it. She drank the tea that Ernesto had asked for and ate her toast while she watched him enjoy his coffee with satisfaction. She kept thinking about the coffee bean's words, and although she kept thinking it was a mind game of hers, her words stayed with her.

That night before bed, she went to the kitchen for tea, and when she turned to sit at the table, there she was again, the Spirit of Coffee in its natural form, and with a scent that permeated the whole house. . She told him:

--- Hello Valery, it's me again, hehe! I will not rest until I convince you of all my benefits. I can calm a headache and activate your mind, but it is not those benefits that I want to talk to you about, but about the special moments that are lived together with a coffee, I can promote meetings where people who love each other share a good time. You have been missing out on a lot of quality moments because of your rejection of coffee. Why don't you take the test even a couple of times? And then tell me how it went.

Valery was like the first time, completely speechless, but he considered the proposal of the insistent little pimple, he knew that he was not going to rest until he convinced her. The next day, which was the weekend, she came alone to the café that her friends frequented, and not only were they there, but also Ernesto, they all gathered at a table and had a very pleasant time drinking coffee, and she even liked the taste of it. She wanted to look for the Spirit of the Coffee to tell him that she was right but it was not necessary, from the legs of her ventriloquist he turned and winked at her.
