Esta es una publicación que elevará los ánimos a cualquier amante del café, imagínense un lugar, un gran evento donde el centro de atención es el café desde su cultivo, procesamiento, comercialización y disfrute, mmmm un lugar con gran aroma a café y donde vas caminando y solo hay café a tu alrededor.
The public spaces for shows and events of different indoles have been reactivated considerably and in the city of Caracas the International Meeting of Venezuelan Coffee last weekend, I could not say how many exhibitors participated because I did not do a journalistic investigation in the place about it, but what I can say is that the event was beautiful, a lot of people came to enjoy it and my husband and I had a great time.
Se han reactivado considerablemente los espacios públicos para espectáculos y eventos de diferentes índoles y en la ciudad de Caracas se dio lugar el pasado fin de semana al Encuentro Internacional del Café de Especialidad Venezolano, no sabría decir cuantos expositores participaron porque no hice una investigación periodística en el lugar al respecto, pero lo que si puedo decir es que el evento estuvo hermoso, acudió muchísima gente a disfrutarlo y mi esposo y yo lo pasamos genial.
We went on Friday, May 6 after work, because of the time we could enjoy a beautiful sunset at the Laguito del Círculo Militar, where the exhibition was held, the weather threatened to rain a lot, but we were fortunate to receive no more than a few drops of rain that did not discourage our tour or that of others present, and here I must say that as the hours were running the Laguito was getting more crowded, when we realized the place was lit and with a good party atmosphere.
Fuimos el día viernes 6 de mayo al salir del trabajo, por la hora pudimos disfrutar de un atardecer hermoso en el Laguito del Círculo Militar, lugar donde se efectuó la exposición, el clima amenazaba llover mucho, pero tuvimos la fortuna de recibir no más que pocas gotas de lluvia que para nada desanimaron nuestro recorrido ni el de los demás presentes, y aquí debo decir que mientras iban corriendo las horas se iba poniendo más concurrido el Laguito, cuando nos dimos cuenta el lugar estaba encendido y con buen ambiente de fiesta.
When we arrived we saw that the exhibits were distributed on the sides of a not very long path of this place that is a recreational park, and at first, I thought that was what the whole exhibition was about, but when I had advanced to the middle of the path I raised my eyes and wao! I see a great infrastructure set up to house something much bigger in a very new way and I realized that the best was about to begin.
Al llegar vemos que las exhibiciones estaban distribuidas a los lados de un sendero no muy largo de este lugar que es un parque recreacional, y al principio pensé que de eso se trataba toda la exposición, ¡pero cuando había avanzado a la mitad del sendero elevé mi vista y wao! Veo una gran infraestructura dispuesta para albergar algo mucho más grande de forma muy novedosa y me di cuenta que lo mejor estaba por comenzar.
The first exhibit that caught my attention and caught my eye was the exhibition by Nina Studio of an artisan, hes name is María Eva Ramos who works with epoxy clay making colorful and psychedelic utilitarian works that I found beautiful, the most important thing about her work is that they are totally useful artifacts or utensils for the home that would give huge pleasure to serve them on our table for example, or maybe serve a coffee to a special visitor with one of those miniature spoons so delicate and striking at the same time.
La primera exhibición que llamó mi atención atrapando mi vista fue la exposición de Nina Studio de un artesana de nombre María Eva Ramos que trabaja con arcilla epóxica realizando obras utilitarias coloridas y psicodélicas que me parecieron hermosas, lo más importante de su trabajo es que se trata de artefactos o utensilios totalmente útiles para el hogar que darían un placer enorme al servirlos en nuestra mesa por ejemplo, o tal vez servir un café a una visita especial con una de esas cucharillas miniaturas tan delicadas y llamativas a la vez.
Her products can be found in Iskia stores in the city of Caracas and I also leave her Instagram link by Nina Studio Caracas because it seems to me that it is worth knowing such beautiful work. The kindest lady is dedicated to explaining in an exemplified step by step how she makes her pieces, differentiating the patterns that you get in each one and provokes much more to take a few gift items and for oneself, such as a base for the cell phone. The prices are considerable, I did not see anything worth less than 20 dollars, but everything has originality and an implicit work that is well worth it.
Sus productos se pueden encontrar en las tiendas Iskia de la ciudad de Caracas y así mismo dejo su enlace de Instagram de Nina Studio Caracas porque me parece que de verdad vale la pena conocer tan bonito trabajo. La señora de los más amable se dedica a explicar en un paso a paso ejemplificado como realiza sus piezas, diferenciando los patrones que se consiguen en cada una y provoca mucho mas llevarse unos cuantos artículos de regalo y para una misma, como por ejemplo una base para el celular. Los precios son considerables, no vi nada que valiera menos de 20 dólares, pero todo tiene una originalidad y un trabajo implícito que bien que vale la pena.
And now back to what those who read in this community are passionate about: "coffee", there were plenty of exhibitors offering tastings of their products and you could accept the invitation to have a cup of coffee free from any of them.
Y ahora volviendo a lo que apasiona a quienes leen en esta comunidad: "El café", abundaban los expositores que ofrecían degustaciones de sus productos y podías aceptar la invitación de tomar un vasito de café totalmente gratis de cualquiera de ellos.
We kept moving forward looking for a good stand where we had the opportunity to sit down and buy a more exclusive coffee and talk for a while enjoying the traffic of all the visitors and the beauty of the place.
Nosotros seguíamos avanzando buscando un buen stand donde tuviéramos la oportunidad de sentarnos comprar un café mas exclusivo y conversar un rato disfrutando el tránsito de todos los visitantes y lo lindo del lugar.
And so in the first place, we approached the exhibition of Laco Café, a brand that I already know because of the participation of my friend Basem Tajeldine in this project of excellent Arabica coffee and that if you are interested you can visit permanently in Chacao. Here in this stand, they offered us an Arabian coffee whose preparation I had never seen in my life and that impressed me very much because the coffee is cooked on a bed of sand that is heated in an electric griddle and it is very striking, besides its flavor is very characteristic because it has notes of cardamom. I like strong coffee and I liked this one very much.
Y así en primer lugar nos acercamos a la exhibición de Laco Café, marca que ya conozco por la participación de mi amigo Basem Tajeldine en este proyecto de excelente café arabigo y que si les interesa pueden visitar permanentemente en Chacao. Aquí en este stand nos ofrecieron un café árabe cuya preparación jamás en mi vida había visto y que me impresionó muchísimo porque el café se cocina sobre una cama de arena que se calienta en una plancha eléctrica y resulta muy llamativo, además de que su sabor es muy característico porque tiene notas de cardamomo. Me gusta el café fuerte y este me gustó bastante.
Further on in the larger area, we noticed that they were selling small coffee plants and we wanted to buy one for our patio, but we were informed that the plants would only be sold on the last day of the exhibition, then we realized that they were also selling seedlings in other exhibits, but before we realized the exact place we were attracted to an exhibition of agricultural machinery and coffee processing and we went to see it.
Mas adelante en la zona mas grande nos llamaron la atención que estaban vendiendo plantas de café pequeñas y quisimos comprar una para nuestro patio, pero nos informaron que las plantas solo serían vendidas el último día de la exposición, luego nos dimos cuenta que por otras exhibiciones también vendían plántulas, pero antes de darnos cuenta de lugar exacto nos atrajo una exposición de maquinaria agrícola y de procesamiento de café y nos acercamos a conocer.

What was my surprise was that who was explaining about the machines to process coffee was an old friend from my youth, my friend Juan Pablo Vera, who is the president of one of the National Associations of Coffee Growers that are promoting this agribusiness, my friend took the opportunity to introduce us to an Engineer, the Dr. Nelson Moya, Colombian, who was the creator of all these high-quality machines and explained to us the whole process involved in the fact that the coffee reaches our tables. He also gave us a package of Riochiquito coffee, which they explained to us is of first-class export quality.
Cual fue mi sorpresa que quien explicaba sobre las máquinas para procesar el café era un viejo amigo de la juventud, mi amigo Juan Pablo Vera, quien es el presidente de una de las Asociaciones Nacionales de Caficultores que están impulsando esta agroindustria, mi amigo aprovecho de presentarnos a un Ingeniero, el Dr. Nelson Moya Colombiano quien fue el creador de todas estas máquinas de gran calidad y nos explicó todo el proceso que conlleva el hecho de que el café llegue a nuestras mesas. También nos regaló un empaque de café Riochiquito que nos explicaron que es de calidad de exportación de primera.
I must confess that we were so encouraged by this activity that we were seriously considering planting coffee on our land to begin to try it out, not because the little plants looked beautiful, but because they explained to us that the altitude of the place where we live and the land is ideal for this type of planting and the profitability is worth it.
Debo confesar que nos animamos muchísimo con esta actividad que quedamos considerando seriamente sembrar en nuestro terreno café para comenzar a probar, ya no era porque las maticas se veían lindas, si no porque nos explicaron que la altura del lugar donde vivimos y el terreno es ideal para este tipo de siembra y la rentabilidad vale la pena.
There is so much coffee in my country and of such great quality! It is wonderful to realize the growth that this type of agro-industrial activity has due to the effort of all the producers and the support of the competent authorities in the matter each one of us in our country can see the varieties of coffee that we find on the shelves of the supermarkets and we see that the competition that has developed is quite encouraging and those who are benefited are the consumers of this exquisite bean.
¡Cuánto café hay en mi país y de que gran calidad! Es una maravilla darse cuenta del crecimiento que este tipo de actividad agro industrial tiene por el esfuerzo de todos los productores y al apoyo de las autoridades competentes en la materia, de hecho, cada uno de nosotros en nuestro país puede ver las variedades de café que encontramos en los anaqueles de los supermercados y vemos que la competencia que se ha desarrollado es bastante alentadora y quienes resultan beneficiados somos los consumidores de este exquisito grano.

Además, las variedades de café que se dan bien en nuestras tierras, dicen los expertos, que son de lo mejor, que tienen unas notas adicionales muy interesantes y que incluso llegan a decir que es el mejor del mundo, Colombia por años ha tenido una gran campaña sobre el parecer de que su café es el mejor del mundo, ahora al parecer queremos competir, si bien es cierto debemos decir que la infraestructura agro industrial nuestro país hermano la tiene mucho mas desarrollada en creces y de hecho ingenieros como el que nos presentaron vienen a asesorarnos.

Pero también es cierto y él lo afirma que la riqueza de las variedades que por años aquí se han cultivado son de mayor calidad, de hecho, desde hace mucho tiempo el café cosechado en el estado Táchira, Barinas y al Sur del lago de Maracaibo en el Zulia lleva años siendo vendido a industrias colombianas para su procesamiento metiéndose en el saco del mejor café colombiano. Aquí yo digo que en muchas cosas Colombia y Venezuela somos hermanos no solo por decirlo, de verdad lo somos y en cosas como estas somos como lo mismo, en esto y en las mujeres más hermosas.
We then continued our tour, looking for more delicious coffee to sit and taste, the last one we tasted was Café Kaldi, a brand that in recent years has positioned itself in the Venezuelan market being found in most supermarkets and that to me, in particular, has caught my attention for its modern packaging, besides it is a good coffee.
Nosotros luego seguimos nuestro recorrido, buscando mas rico que café para sentarnos a degustar, el último que probamos fue el de Café Kaldi, una marca que los últimos años se ha posicionado en el mercado venezolano encontrándose en la mayoría de los supermercados y que a mi particularmente me ha llamado la atención por su moderno empaque, además de verdad es un buen café.
In the exhibition, their stand was one of the most beautiful and eye-catching, and with this, we ended our visit to the event, but from there we saw how other brands such as Café Amanecer even had interactive shows with the public to attract consumers to their brand.
En la exposición su stand era uno de los más bonitos y llamativos y con este terminamos nuestra visita al evento, pero desde allí vimos como otras marcas como café Amanecer incluso tenían espectáculos interactivos con el público para atraer consumidores a su marca.
There was also live music in the place and I liked it because it was calm music, café type music and it gave a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
We left there with the idea that it would be hard to sleep that night because we had so much coffee so late and indeed when we got home we got comfortable and watched movies until almost 2:00 am, thanks to the coffee and the loving company.
También había música en vivo en el lugar y me agradó porque era música tranquila, música tipo café y daba un ambiente bien relajado y ameno.
Salimos de allí con la idea de que esa noche sería difícil dormir por haber tomado tanto café tan tarde y efectivamente al llegar a casa nos pusimos cómodos y vimos películas hasta casi las 2:00 a.m., gracias al café y la amorosa compañía.
