Changes Bring Fresh Energy

I always like to have a fresh look and change after maintaining a rough and tough appearance for a while. Typically, I don’t get a haircut for about 3-4 months. I don’t visit the barber for trims or side cuts, letting my hair grow until it starts to look messy. I usually shave twice a month, not more frequently. This is because I enjoy changes in my appearance.

I understand that, given my managerial position, I should maintain a more decent and professional look. However, I don’t consistently keep up with this standard. This might be due to laziness or some other excuse, but the fact is, when I finally get a haircut and a clean shave after having messy hair, people notice the change significantly. Suddenly, I receive compliments from everywhere, with everyone saying I look good. Am I really that noticeable? lol.

Yesterday, I finally decided to get a haircut because the holy month of Zil Hajj is approaching, during which I refrain from cutting my hair or nails as a mark of respect. I have been following this practice for a long time, and this year was no different. I got a haircut on the last day before the month started. I don’t get a shave at the barber shop because their used equipment often gives me pimples. I prefer to shave at home with my own tools. In my 20s, I was adept at shaping a French cut and other customized beard styles. I used to experiment with different types of beards, but now, in my mid-30s, I prefer a clean shave. It looks more decent, and people often say that it makes me look younger and more energetic.

This is because I don’t shave regularly, making the change more noticeable. I believe that a fresh look and change bring new energy and a boost to my work life. Following the same routine with the same look isn’t my style. I am fond of keeping long hair, but it takes a lot of time and often turns out to be very messy, especially in hot weather. Maintaining long hair appropriately becomes really hard.

In the end, I would like to say that I do like both of my appearances: the one with long hair and a beard, and the new, fresh look. I am comfortable with all my appearances. However, changes give me fresh energy.
