What does Step Off or Get Stepped On mean?

I read an article written by @valued-customer titled Step Off or get Stepped On.
When I interpret it because I don't know English well, the sentence seems to mean that people are deceiving and deceiving each other.
I think I misunderstood the article written by @valued-customer. Still, it was clear that @valued-customer opposed Tron's act of acquiring Steemit.
@valued-customer seems to oppose the centralization of Tron, which is inconsistent with the US election, voting system, and stock trading order.

He opposes Tron's centralization and demands a decentralization system. This is due to the belief that the decentralization system guarantees freedom of speech and publication by Steemit.
In fact, America's politics, economy, culture, education and other institutions and ideologies are excellent. However, it is questionable whether the American system and ideas are suitable for East Asia.

The old Japanese man I met said this.
"American democracy and capitalism do not fit the reality of Japan."
"Japan must return to an era ruled by the Japanese emperor!"
During World War II, Japan attempted to conquer China and become an equal empire with the United States. Japan believed that having a vast territory, resources, and population like the United States would make it an equal position with the United States.
To the Japanese, the United States was the emperor who conquered the new continent and the Pacific Ocean.
Modern Japan is a tributary of the Pacific Empire, dominated by the American emperor.

It seems to me that America has two great emperors: Protestant @roleerob and Catholic scholar @valued-customer.
In the United States, the Protestant and Catholic beliefs and ideas form a decentralized system, but a unified empire.
I thought that the half-earth, half-iron kingdom in Daniel may be the United States.
For those living in feudal and imperial East Asia, the United States was a very strange country.
It was mysterious that the United States was born by the alliance of two irreconcilable religions of Protestantism and Catholicism. So, Koreans believe that God or aliens created America.

Let's go back to the main story. China and Japan believe that America's political and economic systems and ideas are unsuitable for East Asia. So, China and Japan demand South Korea to accept their political and economic systems and ideas.
Trump's actions and policies are giving Koreans anxiety and fear that the United States would cannot protect Korea.
Although the United States is stronger than China, the belief that the United States cannot control China eventually spreads to Koreans.

China and Japan are putting pressure on Korea that each other will become the new owner of East Asia. So, China and Japan try to nationalize Korea.
Koreans worry that Trump may give Korea as a subsidiary of either China or Japan for economic benefit.
So, some Koreans insist that it is better for Korea to be an ally that receives Chinese money, as it was 2000 years ago.

@valued-customer's argument is great. However, China and Japan insist to Korea that America's ideas and institutions do not fit the reality of modern East Asia.
So, modern Koreans are struggling in the temptations and threats of China and Japan.
