Technology has made life easier for everyone and now the world is going digital, it's very vital we are on the same page.
I recall what sparked my love for technology, it was the very day I visited Victoria at her fashion home, prior to that, I do make sketches for my client with my hands but I was so surprised to see Victoria doing so digitally.
She also had a beautiful fashion portfolio online which she referred people to. The portfolio consisted of her jobs, office address, and email address. She had an online booklet for entering her clients body measurement, most of what she did revolved around technology and I also noticed how it made her work swift and seamless.
More to that, Victoria designs her fliers herself through Canva and other tools, she edited most of her pictures using lightroom editors and Adobe Photoshop, I loved how she added hues, edited backgrounds of her images, added music to her videos and even run a voice-over for herself as a way of advertising her handiwork.
Since I was creative, it charged me up to want to imitate her, I admired her digital prowess, how she was vast digitally, her typing skills, she was able to navigate around any site she found herself and at that moment I knew it was time to dive into the world of technology.
There was no phone Victoria couldn't operate and I loved the fact that she knew the short cut to most of the computer command.
My journey began when I enrolled for a six months computer class first, so as to be familiar with some of the terminologies used in computer and to bag my first tech certificate.
At first, I had wanted to learn computer engineering especially the part where I could repair gadgets but I got discouraged by someone, well that was many years ago, if it was now, I didn't think the opinion of that person would have mattered.
After a few months, I was now familiar with the basics of tech and I wanted to explore more, I would watch tutorials on YouTube and practiced everytime and soon I could now so many things without the help of others.
My first attempt on digital sketch was awful, I thought having a creative skill physically qualifies one to be a digital artist until I began to paint and sketch digitally, it was a story of blood and sweat.
Aside that, I created my own workspace like Victoria, where I enter people's body measurement and that has made my fashion experience seamless. I have also learned how to create animations from scratch to suit my fashion needs.
I am the one my siblings call upon to help them fix some of their phone's software issue, as I now have an idea on what to do even though I am not an expert on the field, I never stop learning.
Concerning my editing skills, I am doing very well on that aspect as well, I love to play with photos and add colors to make them look attractive, I can now blur unwanted areas, focus on my shot and so much more.
My profound love for all of these were as a result of watching Victoria my friend doing a lot with her smartphone and sometimes her laptop.
This is a response to the #Septemberinleo prompt day 3, feel free to join here as well.
