The future hopes for farmingtales

What would you like to say to the developers of FT, and how would you like the future of the game and the Real-Life part of it to evolve?

Starting off I would like to say thanks for the Developers for their continued hard work to help develop FarmingTales into a game that can stay around and last the test of time and also be fun playing it! Congratulations on creating an enjoyable and engaging farming simulation game. You guys have already out survived 100s of games and hopefully 100s more. I know a lot of time and effort gets put into updates and future changes and I'm glad you are all open to listening to what the community things and what we might come up with that can be used to continue Moving up and continuing to gain new players and grow the game bigger and more indepth.

In this article Im going to try to go over some things ive been thinking for along time on things I think would greatly improve the games' economy with new burns for tokens such as and other random changes/improvments. Starting with new burn mechanics to start slowing fall and fixing economy :

  • Instead of the current staking system for Aureas, The game could offer the option for players to burn their CBIT and SEST tokens in exchange for a set amount of Aureas much like Taco does with Oni, could even have it do the same as more is staked to be burnt by the community the more tiers can be reached increasing the payout until it gets burnt back to a lower tier. This would remove insane amounts of CBIT and SEST from circulation and reduce their overall supply, potentially increasing their value.

  • Limited-time events: Host limited-time events where players can earn exclusive rewards by burning a certain number of tokens. For example, players could be given a week to burn tokens to earn an exclusive animal new animals or recipes to be unlocked in NW. Say every time 1 million sest is burnt a new recipe will be added to NW etc. Everyone could just toss in a couple sest here and there, or give an option to "donate" like 1% to the fund when you craft.

  • Animal Crossing is a beloved game that has captured the hearts of millions of players around the world. It provides a unique and immersive experience that combines farming, crafting, and social interaction. However, it lacks the blockchain and cryptocurrency aspect that has become increasingly popular in the gaming world.
By incorporating blockchain and cryptocurrency technology into a game like Animal Crossing, developers can create a whole new level of engagement and excitement for players. This would allow players to not only enjoy the fun and relaxing aspects of the game but also earn rewards that have real-world value.
Players could collect and trade rare items and NFTs, participate in unique in-game events, and earn tokens for completing tasks and achieving milestones. This would create a sense of accomplishment and incentive for players to continue playing and engaging with the game.
Incorporating blockchain technology would also increase the transparency and security of the game's economy. Players would be able to see the value of their items and tokens, and have the ability to trade and sell them with other players directly, without the need for a centralized marketplace.
Overall, combining the fun and relaxing aspects of Animal Crossing with the innovative and exciting world of blockchain and cryptocurrency would create a truly unique and engaging gaming experience that could capture the hearts of players around the world.
-- Incorporating emotes and skins that change in the store frequently can definitely add a level of excitement and freshness to the game. Here are a few ideas for how this could work:

    • Rotate skins and emotes in the store on a daily or weekly basis. Each time a new set of items becomes available, players could use a combination of ingredients and/or sest to purchase them.
    • Create special skins and emotes that are only available for a limited time. These could be tied to special events or holidays, or simply offered as a way to keep players engaged and excited about the game.
    • Allow players to vote on which skins and emotes they want to see in the store. This could be done through in-game polls or surveys, and would give players a sense of ownership over the items that are available.
    • Introduce skins and emotes that are tied to specific achievements or milestones in the game. For example, players who reach a certain level or complete a certain number of quests could unlock a special skin or emote as a reward.
    • Create skins and emotes that are only available through special promotions or collaborations with other games or brands. This could generate buzz and interest in the game, while also giving players a chance to show off their fandom.
    • To keep the in-game economy balanced, these skins and emotes could be priced based on their rarity or popularity, with more desirable items requiring a higher amount of ingredients or sest to purchase. Additionally, some skins and emotes could be offered as rewards for completing certain in-game activities or achievements, rather than being available for purchase in the store.
  • Ontop of skins another massive burn rate and also giving it a further animal crossing/pokemon got to collect them all and make my world look how I want it to with farm decorations: Examples include:

    • Garden statues: Offer a variety of garden statues, such as animal sculptures or whimsical garden gnomes, that players can place around their farm.
    • Hanging baskets: Allow players to place hanging baskets filled with flowers or herbs around their farm to add a splash of color.
    • Wind chimes: Offer wind chimes that players can hang on their porch or in their garden for a relaxing and soothing sound effect.
    • Birdhouses: Allow players to place birdhouses around their farm to attract birds and add a touch of nature to their environment.
    • Solar lights: Offer solar-powered lights that players can place around their farm to illuminate paths or highlight specific areas.
    • Water fountains: Allow players to place water fountains around their farm for a soothing water feature and to attract birds.
    • Decorative rocks: Offer decorative rocks with inspirational or motivational messages that players can place around their farm.
    • Hammocks: Allow players to place hammocks around their farm for a cozy and relaxing spot to take a break.
    • Planters: Offer a variety of decorative planters, such as vintage watering cans or recycled tires, that players can use to display their favorite plants.
    • Weather vanes: Allow players to place weather vanes on their rooftops to add a decorative touch and show the current wind direction.
    • Customizable signs: Allow players to customize signs that can be placed around their farm, such as with their farm name or a personalized message.
    • Seasonal decorations: Offer seasonal decorations, such as holiday-themed lights or harvest wreaths, that can be placed around the farm to celebrate the changing seasons.
    • Vintage farm vehicles: Offer vintage farm vehicles, such as old pickup trucks or tractors, that can be placed around the farm for a nostalgic touch.
    • Windmills: Allow players to place decorative windmills around their farm for a unique visual element and to add a touch of whimsy.
    • Streetlights: Offer streetlights that can be placed around the farm to illuminate paths or create a cozy atmosphere.
    • Farm-themed murals: Allow players to place farm-themed murals on the sides of buildings or fences for a colorful and eye-catching addition.
    • Windsocks: Offer windsocks that can be placed around the farm to show the direction and strength of the wind.
    • Topiary animals: Allow players to create topiary animals, such as bushes shaped like cows or horses, to add a unique and playful element to their farm.
    • Garden trellises: Offer decorative garden trellises that can be used to grow climbing plants or vines for a beautiful and natural decoration.

-Rare Versions of animals and buildings during normal crafting:

    • In addition to normal crafting recipes, the game could include a small chance for players to randomly craft rare cosmetic versions of the same items. For example, a player could craft a rare golden watering can instead of the standard silver one.
    • These rare cosmetic items would function the same way as their normal counterparts, but they would have unique visual designs or effects. Like rainbow, holo, funny designs like terminator cow etc.
    • To ensure that these rare cosmetic items remain rare and valuable, the chance of crafting them would be significantly lower than that of crafting the normal items. Additionally, the game could limit the number of rare cosmetic items that players can own or use, further increasing their rarity.
    • To make the process of crafting even more engaging and exciting for players, the game could include special sound effects or animations when a rare cosmetic item is crafted. This would create a sense of anticipation and make the experience more rewarding for players.
    • Overall, including rare cosmetic versions of normal items would add another layer of depth and excitement to the crafting system while also incentivizing players to continue crafting even after obtaining all of the standard items.
  • Random Promotional ideas: Donate a portion of profits to agricultural charities if a certain number of Sest is burnt by the community together: To give back to the farming community and support sustainable agriculture, FarmingTales could donate a portion of their profits to agricultural charities and organizations. This would not only benefit the real-life farming community, but also create a positive image for the game and attract socially conscious players.

    • Works with ^ Create a token burning leaderboard: A token burning leaderboard can help create a sense of competition and encourage users to burn more tokens. The leaderboard could display the top token burners and offer rewards for those who burn the most tokens.
  • Game Optimization, many of these things may have been done but I know many of them have not likely and would not only make the game way easier for all to play but likely be able to optimize it to the point of allowing mobile to work easily again, each of these techniques can help performance and theres even more indepth ones then these that can drastically make the game function in Unity builds better such as:

    • Level of Detail (LOD): This technique involves using simplified versions of game objects, textures, and meshes for objects that are far away or not in the player's immediate view. By reducing the complexity of these objects, the game can reduce the number of polygons that need to be rendered, which can improve performance.
    • Occlusion Culling: This technique involves not rendering objects that are not visible to the player because they are blocked by other objects. Unity has built-in occlusion culling tools that can automatically detect and cull objects that are not visible, which can improve performance.
    • Asset Bundles: Asset bundles are collections of game assets that can be loaded and unloaded as needed. By splitting up assets into smaller bundles, the game can load and unload assets as needed, which can reduce memory usage and improve performance. <- This one I feel like might be a big issue because of assets bought from packages if they were not unbundled
    • Static Batching: This technique involves combining multiple static objects into a single object to reduce draw calls. By combining objects that don't move or change, the game can reduce the number of draw calls required to render the scene, which can improve performance.
    • Dynamic Batching: This technique involves combining multiple dynamic objects into a single object to reduce draw calls. By combining objects that move or change in similar ways, the game can reduce the number of draw calls required to render the scene, which can improve performance.
    • Texture Compression: This technique involves compressing textures to reduce memory usage and improve performance. Unity supports several different texture compression formats, each with its own trade-offs between quality and performance.
    • Script Optimization: Optimizing scripts involves reducing the number of function calls, reducing memory allocations, and reducing the complexity of code. This can improve performance by reducing the amount of work that the CPU has to do to run the game.
    • GPU Instancing: This technique involves using the same mesh and material to render multiple objects, which can reduce the number of draw calls required to render the scene. Unity supports GPU instancing for certain types of objects, such as trees and grass.
    • Lightmap Baking: This technique involves precomputing the lighting for a scene and baking it into a texture, which can improve performance by reducing the number of dynamic lights that need to be rendered in real-time.
    • Particle System Optimization: Particle systems can be optimized by reducing the number of particles, reducing the complexity of particle shaders, and using billboarding or mesh-based particles instead of more complex geometry. By reducing the complexity of particle systems, the game can improve performance while still maintaining the desired visual effects.
  • Mini-game need to be able to be played more single player aswell, more time trials/speedraces/highscores people can fight for individually without needing other people to start the race/game. Eventually when theres more people it won't be an issue getting a lot of people together at once but for now it would be good for people to be able to grind and practice solo with still being able to win rewards/titles etc:
Crop Harvest Time Trial: This mini-game could take place in a designated area of a crop field, with the player using a specific tool such as a sickle or scythe to quickly harvest the crops. The game could keep track of the number of crops harvested within the time limit, with rewards given for achieving certain milestones.

    • Animal Care Challenge: This mini-game could take place in a barn or pasture area, with the player racing against the clock to complete different animal care tasks. The game could provide instructions on each task, such as filling a water trough or collecting eggs, and keep track of the time taken to complete each task.
    • Corn Maze Race: This mini-game could take place in a specially designed corn maze, with the player using a map and their wits to find the exit before time runs out. The game could provide clues and obstacles along the way, and offer rewards for completing the maze within certain time limits or with a high level of accuracy.
    • Fishing Challenge: This mini-game could take place at a designated fishing spot, with the player using different lures and techniques to catch as many fish as possible within the time limit. The game could provide feedback on the player's technique and offer rewards for catching rare or difficult-to-catch fish.
    • Garden Planting Time Trial: This mini-game could take place in a designated garden area, with the player racing against the clock to plant a certain number of crops in the correct spots. The game could provide feedback on the player's planting technique and offer rewards for achieving a high level of accuracy and speed.
    • Barn Cleaning Challenge: This mini-game could take place in a dirty barn, with the player racing against the clock to clean up animal waste and debris. The game could provide obstacles such as angry animals or slippery floors, and offer rewards for completing the task within the time limit.
    • Tree Pruning Challenge: This mini-game could take place in a designated tree area, with the player using pruning shears to shape and trim a series of trees. The game could provide feedback on the player's technique and offer rewards for achieving a certain level of accuracy and speed.
    • Egg Collection Challenge: This mini-game could take place in a chicken coop, with the player racing against the clock to collect as many eggs as possible while avoiding angry roosters and other obstacles. The game could provide feedback on the player's technique and offer rewards for achieving a certain number of eggs within the time limit.
    • Hay Bale Stacking: This mini-game could take place in a barn or field, with the player stacking hay bales as quickly and efficiently as possible. The game could provide obstacles such as uneven ground or other bales in the way, and offer rewards for stacking a certain number of bales within the time limit.
    • Real World Farm Intergrations:
I feel like maybe we could create a FTP coin that can be given away/earned with Real Life events/Contests etc This FTP coin can eventually say be exchanged at a 1:100 rate for sest or exclusive skins/decorations that can only be obtained with the FTP coins
  • Some of the events that could help meld the real world aspect to the Ingame world economy:

    • Organize a community event where players can showcase their real-life farms or gardens and share tips and tricks with other players. This can be done through a designated forum or social media group.
    • Allow players to submit photos or videos of their real-life farms or gardens and feature them on the game's website or social media pages. This can be done through a weekly or monthly contest where the best submission wins a small prize such as an in-game item or token.
    • Create a scavenger hunt in the game where players have to find specific items or plants in their real-life environment and submit a photo as proof. This can be done periodically and can feature different themes or categories each time.
    • Encourage players to plant real-life trees or plants by offering a reward in the game for each one planted. This can be done by tracking the progress of the player's plants through photos or updates on a designated forum or social media group.
    • Integrate a feature in the game where players can purchase real-life seeds or plants that are relevant to the game's environment or theme. This can be done through partnerships with seed companies or by creating a marketplace for players to buy and sell real-life items.
    • Allow players to create and share their own digital NFTs that represent their real-life farms or gardens. This can be done through a designated platform or marketplace where players can buy, sell, and trade their NFTs.
    • Host virtual workshops or webinars where players can learn about sustainable farming practices, eco-friendly gardening techniques, or other related topics. This can be done by partnering with experts in the field or by featuring community members who have relevant knowledge and experience.
    • Create a feature in the game where players can donate real-life produce to food banks or local charities. This can be done by partnering with local organizations or by creating a virtual donation platform within the game.
    • Encourage players to share their own recipes that feature ingredients from the game or from their real-life farms or gardens. This can be done through a designated forum or social media group and can feature different themes or categories each week.

Finally Some random Quality of Life Fixes such as:

    • Garden Icons: You could add an icon to each garden plot in the game to indicate whether or not it is currently planted. This could be a small sprout or seedling icon if the plot is planted, or an empty plot icon if it is not. This would make it easy for players to quickly see which plots need to be tended to.
    • Planted Icon: You could also include an icon on each plot indicating what is currently planted there. This could be a small image of the plant, or a simple icon indicating the type of crop or flower. This would help players keep track of what they've planted, and also make it easier to plan out their gardens.
    • Barn Value: Another simple fix would be to always display the current value of items in the player's barn, even when they are not actively playing the game. This would prevent players from accidentally burning valuable items, and also help them keep track of their inventory even when they are away from the game.
    • Reduce the hitbox on Tractor for better feeling races/driving

Again want to thank the Devs for opening the floor for users to discuss ideas for what they hope to see in the future, there's no doubt that the game can continue to evolve and become even more enjoyable for players. The incorporation of NFTs and real-life elements also adds an exciting new dimension to the game. So, here's to a bright future for the game and its community!
