Nuestro predio nos volvió a sorprender esta semana, debo admitir que no tenía muchas esperanzas en la búsqueda de hongos, el suelo esta seco y el clima es muy caluroso, lo que hacía que hubiera pocas probabilidades, sin embargo hemos encontrado algunas variedades. Al principio pensé que se trataba de una sola variedad del hongo llamado ¨Schizophyllum¨¨commune¨: pero al ver más de cerca supuse que eran tres las variedades. Finalmente, y gracias a¨Google¨¨Lems¨: pude identificar a dos variedades. La primera se trata de una variedad muy conocida en esta zona del mundo llamado ¨Crepidotus¨¨mollis¨: Un hongo que se desarrolla en madera o troncos de árboles

Our farm surprised us again this week, I must admit that I did not have much hope in the search for mushrooms, the soil is dry and the weather is very hot, which meant that there were little chances , however we have found some varieties. At first I thought it was a single variety of the fungus called ¨Schizophyllum¨¨commune¨: but on closer inspection I assumed there were three varieties. Finally, and thanks to ¨Google¨¨Lems¨: I was able to identify two varieties. The first is a well-known variety in this part of the world called ¨Crepidotus¨¨mollis¨: A fungus that grows on wood or tree trunks
La confusión se presentó porque todos los hongos estaban sobre el mismo tronco muy cerca unos de otros, la similitud en sus formas, y sobre todo al ver las apariencias de las branquias, causaron mi confusión; por suerte nuestra ¨herramienta¨¨favorita¨: nos ayudó a identificar las dos especies. La segunda variedad resulto ser ¨Schizophyllum¨¨commune¨: un tipo de hongo que encontramos frecuentemente al visitar el predio

The confusion arose because all the mushrooms were on the same trunk very close to each other, the similarity in their shapes, and especially seeing the appearance of the gills, caused my confusion; Luckily our ¨favorite¨¨tool¨: helped us identify the two species. The second variety turned out to be ¨Schizophyllum¨¨commune¨: a type of fungus that we frequently find when visiting the property
Su apariencia hermosa muy parecida al ¨coral¨: es lo que siempre llama mi atención. Como les menciono al principio, este tipo de hongos se desarrolla en madera, ramas o troncos de árboles que están en descomposición, necesita de la humedad para crecer, y es lo que llamo mi atención, ya que el clima y el ambiente que presenta hoy es seco, no es el ambiente más propicio para su desarrollo

Its beautiful appearance very similar to ¨coral¨: is which always catches my eye. As I mentioned at the beginning, this type of fungus develops on wood, branches or trunks of trees that are decomposing, it needs moisture to grow, and that is what caught my attention, since the climate and environment it presents today it is dry, it is not the most favorable environment for its development
Nosotros no acostumbramos a consumir hongos silvestres, sin embargo, esta es una variedad de hongos que en muchos países es muy utilizados en sus recetas, aunque debo de admitir, que su presencia limpia, blanca, y carnosa, me invita a llevarlo a casa para preparar una exquisita comida. Juzgando por su tamaño, creo que hay que recolectar muchas de ellas para preparar una comida para la familia. Hoy nuevamente nos ha vuelto a sorprender nuestro predio, por suerte teníamos con nosotros nuestra ¨nikoncoolpixb500¨ para hacer estas hermosas fotografías.

We are not used to eating wild mushrooms, however, this is a variety of mushrooms that in many countries is widely used in their recipes, although I must admit that its clean, white, and fleshy, it invites me to take it home to prepare an exquisite meal. Judging by their size, I think you have to collect a lot of them to prepare a meal for the family. Today our property surprised us again, luckily we had our ¨nikoncoolpixb500¨ with us to take these beautiful photographs.
