The topic I bring today is just an appreciation that I have personally and does not respond to any requirement of Hive. While publishing directly in the communities is something increasingly recommended, the use of your blog is something that until now has been left to the discretion of each user.
One of the objectives of this text is to invite you once again to publish in the communities, but I will take this opportunity to explain how publications are organized in Hive.
A look back
Until recently, the only way to organize content in Hive was with the use of tags or hashtags. The first of these became the category and you could search for that content by filtering posts under /created/category or /created/tag.
Nowadays the mechanic is the same, but with the difference that now the first tag or category is usually placed as the identifier of the community where it is being published (which is usually the word hive, followed by a hyphen and a number, such as "hive-110490") and instead of being treated as a category, it automatically becomes part of the content of the corresponding community.
This new way of organization has made it possible to create thematic communities, which makes it easier to know where to find a certain type of content or where to publish it. As an ideal structure so far, most whales have focused their support on the contents published in these communities and this is the main reason to recommend its use since it is the one that allows everything to have a coherent structural order.
El tema que hoy traigo es solo una apreciación que tengo yo en lo personal y no responde a ningún requerimiento de Hive. Si bien hacer tus publicaciones directamente en las comunidades sí es algo cada vez más recomendado, la utilización de tu blog es algo que hasta el momento ha quedado a criterio de cada usuario.
Uno de los objetivos de este texto es invitar una vez más a publicar en las comunidades, pero voy a aprovechar para explicar cómo se organizan las publicaciones en Hive.
Una mirada hacia atrás
Hasta hace poco tiempo la única manera de organizar el contenido en Hive, era con el uso de las etiquetas o hashtags. La primera de ellas se convertía en la categoría y se podía buscar ese contenido filtrando las publicaciones en la dirección /created/categoria o /created/etiqueta.
Hoy en día la mecánica es la misma, pero con la diferencia de que ahora se suele colocar como primera etiqueta o categoría, el identificador de la comunidad donde se está publicando (que suele ser la palabra hive, seguida de un guión y un número, como “hive-110490”) y en lugar de tratarse como categoría, pasa automáticamente a ser parte del contenido de la comunidad correspondiente.
Esta nueva manera de organización ha permitido crear comunidades temáticas, lo cual facilita el saber dónde encontrar determinado tipo de contenido o dónde publicarlo. Como estructura ideal hasta este momento, la mayoría de ballenas han enfocado su apoyo a los contenidos publicados en estas comunidades y es la razón principal para recomendar su uso, pues es ella la que permite que todo tenga un orden estructural coherente.

Changes
But with that change, came an important change and that is the fact that when you publish a post in a community, it does not appear on your blog, unless you clearly indicate to the editor that you also want to publish it on your blog. This option is available on Peakd.com as a button next to the name of the selected community. In the case of Ecency.com, the option appears in the "Advanced" section. In the other cases, after posting you must re-blog (also called "share on your blog").
But what happens if you don't? Nothing bad happens, the only point is that whoever enters your blog will not be able to see your posts, as they will only be visible in the "View all posts" section.
But notice that the default option to view a user's profile is the blog.
Anyone might wonder what the significance of this is. My perception every time I enter a profile and see no posts, is that the user has no interest in creating a profile that represents him/her and, at least in me, it produces a bad impression.
I understand that in some cases it will be a lack of knowledge. Well, for those cases this post is coming.
What use can it be?
There are many ways to use the blog to give meaning to a profile. In my case, I share everything I publish in it because I consider that all the content I write makes sense to most of the followers I have. Many follow me for the music aspect, but they are interested in the content I write about the Hive platform and the vast majority also enjoy my literary content and what I usually share. But one of the forms of organization I could give it is, as a musician that I am, only publish in my blog my musical posts and there I can share the posts of other users in that same subject. Remember that when you reblog the publications of other authors, they appear in your blog.
In that case, I could leave the publications about Hive, literature, photography or any other type only for the "all posts" section and my blog would be focused only on music.
Cambios
Pero con ese cambio, vino un cambio importante y es el hecho de que cuando publicas un post en una comunidad, el mismo no aparece en tu blog, a menos que le indiques claramente al editor que también quieres publicarlo en tu blog. Esta opción está disponible en Peakd.com como un botón al lado del nombre de la comunidad seleccionada. En el caso de Ecency aparece la opción en el aparte de “Avanzado”. En los demás casos, luego de publicar debes hacer reblog (también llamado “compartir en tu blog”).
¿Pero qué pasa si no lo haces? No pasa nada malo, el único punto es que el que entre a tu blog no podrá ver tus publicaciones, pues estas solo estarán visibles en la opción “Ver todos los posts”.
Pero fíjate que la opción predeterminada para ver el perfil de un usuario es el blog.
Cualquiera pudiera preguntarse qué importancia tiene esto. La percepción mía cada vez que entro a un perfil y no veo publicaciones, es que el usuario no tiene interés en crear un perfil que lo represente y, por lo menos en mí, produce una mala impresión.
Entiendo que en algunos casos será falta de conocimiento. Pues para esos casos está llegando esta publicación.
¿Qué utilidad puede tener?
Hay muchas formas de usar el blog para darle sentido a un perfil. En mi caso yo comparto todo lo que publico en el mismo, porque considero que todo el contenido que escribo tiene sentido para la mayoría de los seguidores que tengo. Muchos me siguen por el aspecto musical, pero les interesa el contenido que escribo sobre la plataforma de Hive y la gran mayoría también disfrutan mi contenido literario y lo que suelo compartir. Pero una de las formas de organización que podría darle es, como músico que soy, solo publicar en mi blog mis publicaciones musicales y allí mismo puedo compartir las publicaciones de otros usuarios en esa misma materia. Recuerda que al rebloguear las publicaciones de otros autores, estas aparecen es en el blog tuyo.
En ese caso yo podría dejar las publicaciones sobre Hive, literatura, fotografía o cualquier otro tipo únicamente para la sección de “todas las publicaciones” y mi blog quedaría centrado únicamente en música.

The options
This is an alternative that I think would make good use of the organization of the blog, but it is not the only one, it is up to you to create your personal proposal. However, it seems better to me to place all your posts there, than to have that empty space, which conveys a sense of lack of interest.
The blog, by allowing you to share content from other authors, also has the possibility to show what you find interesting. However, I see that many users have it more as a way to ingratiate themselves with certain users or whales and reblog any content that crosses their path. Then one sees in that profile a lot of content that does not keep any coherence between them and that in the end does not speak well of the owner. Even more when you see that they reblog a lot of content that is not related to each other, but does not show a single publication of the profile owner.
How to fix it?
Previously, when you reblogged someone else's post, there was no way to undo it. So if you had done it by mistake, it stayed on your profile as an eternal stain. However, that was changed and today it is a simple task to undo a reblog, at least from Peakd.com and Ecency.com.
If you are one of those people who have shared on your profile every whale post that has come your way, you can start cleaning up your profile by undoing them. The logical thing is that in this part you only share content that you really find interesting and that you think that others should also watch.
If, on the other hand, you are one of those who have an empty blog, start sharing your own posts that you think will show your essence, that is, the content that you want all the readers who come to your profile to see.
Las opciones
Esta es una alternativa que pienso que aprovecharía muy bien la organización del blog, pero no es la única, queda en ti crear tu propuesta personal. Sin embargo, me parece mejor colocar todas tus publicaciones allí, que tener ese espacio vacío, lo cual transmite una sensación de falta de interés.
El blog, al permitir compartir contenido de otros autores, también tiene esa posibilidad de mostrar lo que a ti te parece interesantes. Sin embargo veo que muchos usuarios lo tienen más bien como una manera de congraciarse con determinados usuarios o ballenas y le dan reblog a cuanto contenido se les atraviesa. Entonces uno ve en ese perfil una cantidad de contenido que no guarda ninguna coherencia entre sí y que al final tampoco habla bien del dueño. Más aún cuando ves que le dan reblog a una cantidad de contenido que no guarda relación entre sí, pero no muestra ni una sola publicación del dueño del perfil.
¿Cómo arreglarlo?
Anteriormente, cuando uno le hacía reblog a la publicación de otra persona, no había ninguna manera de deshacerlo. Así que si lo habías hecho por error, eso se quedaba en tu perfil como una mancha eterna. Sin embargo, eso fue modificado y hoy en día es tarea sencilla deshacer un reblog, al menos desde Peakd.com y Ecency.com.
Si eres de las personas que han compartido en tu perfil cuanto post de ballena se te ha atravesado, puedes empezar a limpiar tu perfil, deshaciendo estos. Lo lógico es que en esa parte solo compartas contenido que de verdad te parezca de interés y que consideres que otros también deben verlo.
Si por el contrario, eres de los que tiene tu blog vacío, empieza a compartir tus propias publicaciones que consideres que que van a mostrar tu esencia, es decir, el contenido que quieras que vean todos los lectores que lleguen a tu perfil

Cross-post
A tool that was made available some time ago on Hive, is cross-posting, which allows you to share the same in different communities. But it is important to remember that each of these cross-posts represents a post and each of them will appear in your "all posts" section. Using this resource too much, apart from giving a bad aspect to that section, becomes a kind of Spam.
The idea of being able to show your post in another community is thought as a way to share, for example, a photography post, but that contains a poem, in the literature community and also in the photography community. Or a post that is in Spanish you can publish, for example in Cervantes and you can also share it in a thematic community, according to the type of content.
But in no case is it made so that you can put the same post in twenty general communities or communities of similar topics. Persisting in this use will surely lead to measures being taken against those who apply it. So do not abuse this tool!
Cross-post
Una herramienta que se puso a disposición hace algún tiempo en Hive, es el cross-posting, que permite compartir un mismo post en distintas comunidades. Pero es importante recordar que cada uno de estos cross-posts representan una publicación y cada uno de ellos aparecerá en tu sección de “todas las publicaciones”. Usar mucho este recurso, aparte de darle un mal aspecto a esa sección, se convierte en una especie de Spam.
La idea de poder mostrat tu post en otra comunidad está pensado como una manera de compartir, por ejemplo, un post de fotografía, pero que contiene un poema, en la comunidad de literatura y también en el de fotografía. O una publicación que está en español la puedas publicar, por ejemplo en Cervantes y puedas compartirla también en una comunidad temática, de acuerdo al tipo de contenido.
Pero en ningún caso está hecho para que puedas meter un mismo post en veinte comunidades generales o de temáticas similares. Persistir en este uso, seguramente conducirá a que se tengan que tomar medidas en contra de quienes la aplican. Por lo tanto ¡no abuses de esta herramienta!
