POBphotocontest New Round: WATER

WATER is an element that covers 70% of the Earth's surface

with only about 1% being fresh water. With so little fresh water you would think we would take better care of it.
Even the early settlers knew the importance of freshwater and built one of their first settlements in this area next to this mountain stream.

Several smaller mountain streams empty into the mainstream in the following pictures.

Along this stream, they built a grist mill and an ironworks shop.

Even in the dead of winter this stream still flows beneath the frozen surface.

As it meanders through the landscape this water will make its way to the Susquehanna River.
