When John sat still looking at the front door, he thought his share of land was taken away from him by his brother Maxwell, John has not been home for a longer time, everyone thought he lived no more, when he comes back, he was so surprised to see the way people look at him.
He got confused, "why the people look at him like that" in a way that none of them recognizes him anymore, he was short of words as he went straight to have a word with his mother, as a mother she knows who is her son, when the mother saw him coming, she begin to dance and shouted "my son is back ooooo" it was a thing of joy to her, to have seen John after so many years of absence in his hometown.
Maxwell who was a primary school teacher, came back from work and was very happy to see his younger brother John, after some days has past, John told them what brought him back and the reasons he has not been coming home more often, he went further and explained that, he needs to sell his own plot of land, so that he can be able to take care of his challenges in the city and also to establish a business with the remaining money.
But Maxwell said to him No, you only have a plot of land, how can you sell just that one? it is unfair and you would be left without any, but John took it the wrong way and was believing that his brother Maxwell has taken away his interest, he felt his Interest has been jeopardize, that maybe he had already offered that his plot of land for sale, since he was not at home to monitor his properties.
When Maxwell suggest to him to sell his car instead, that he will buy new car and even as that, new model of cars are being manufacture everyday but new model of lands are not being made, Maxwell was an economic teacher, as an economist all his beliefs is that, land is the most valuable factor of production.
John look at him and said, he would rather sell the land, because he never believed in anything that land could offer as good and he never beliefs in his brother but he rather think negativity of him, that maybe why he refused him from selling his own share of Land is because he has already sold it out, while he was in the city and felt his Interest has has been jeopardize.
It was after a long time that he came to understand and acknowledge his brother's decision as they make out a way for him and his challenges were solved.
