My mother has lived for three decades in a building that has a grand staircase with its semi-circular steps in the entrance lobby.
I have always found this staircase quite interesting as it welcomes residents and visitors entering the building, either walking from the street or driving, since the entrance to the subway parking is through the front façade. In this sense, I think the architect's intention was that it should not be hidden, out of anyone's sight.
On the other hand, I think it is very photogenic and on previous occasions I have used it as a location for improvised photo shoots.
Mi madre vive desde hace tres décadas en un edificio que cuenta con una gran escalera con sus escalones de forma semi-circular en el lobby de entrada.
Siempre me ha parecido bastante interesante esta escalera que da la bienvenida a los residentes y visitantes que ingresan al edificio, bien sea caminando desde la calle o manejando, ya que la entrada al estacionamiento subterráneo se realiza por la fachada frontal. En este sentido, creo que la intención del arquitecto era que no quedase oculta, fuera de la vista de nadie.
Por otra parte, creo que es muy fotogénica y en ocasiones anteriores la he usado como locación para improvisadas sesiones fotográficas.
