Red || Rojo
Red is one of the most visible and powerful colors of the color spectrum and is identified with fire, power, desire and love, but contradictorily, also with danger, violence, anger and malice.
Upon knowing of the theme selected for this round, I searched my personal archive for photographs where this color stood out; however, all the images I found were of flowers or Christmas ornaments.
Fortunately, a short distance from my home is the Flower of Venezuela, originally known as the Flower of Hannover, an emblematic structure that served as the national exhibition pavilion during the realization of Expo 2000 in that distant city in north-central Germany, and then was dismantled to be installed a few years later in the place where it is currently located.
As I have described in previous posts, this structure inspired by the orchid and the tepuis, ancient geological formations located south of the country and north of Brazil, has a hydraulic system that allows its 16 petals to open when weather conditions permit, which usually occurs at 6 pm in an operation that takes about two and a half minutes.
During the nights, it is illuminated in violet or purple, the colors that identify the orchid, however, these days and in view of the approaching Christmas season, it is being illuminated in red.
As I have described in previous publications, I used the editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to intervene the original image to my satisfaction.
El rojo es uno de los colores más visibles y poderosos de todo el espectro cromático y se le identifica con el fuego, el poder, el deseo y el amor, pero contradictoriamente, también con el peligro, la violencia, la ira y la malicia.
Al conocer la temática seleccionada para esta ronda, busqué en mi archivo personal fotografías donde destacara este color, sin embargo, todas las imágenes que encontré eran de flores o de adornos navideños.
Afortunadamente, a escasa distancia de mi hogar se encuentra la Flor de Venezuela, conocida originalmente como Flor de Hannover, una emblemática estructura que funcionó como el pabellón nacional de exposiciones durante la realización de la Expo 2000 en aquella lejana ciudad del centro norte alemán, y que luego fué desmontada para ser instalada unos años después en el lugar donde se encuentra actualmente.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, esta estructura inspirada en la orquídea y en los tepuyes, unas antiquísimas formaciones geológicas ubicadas al sur del país y al norte de Brasil; cuenta con un sistema hidráulico que permite que sus 16 petálos se abran, cuando las condiciones meteorológicas lo permiten, lo cual suele ocurrir a las 6 pm en una operación que tarda unos dos minutos y medios.
Durante las noches, es iluminada de violeta o púrpura, los colores que identifican a la orquídea, sin embargo, en estos días y ante la proximidad de la temporada navideña, se le está iluminando de color rojo.
Tal como lo he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, usé las herramientas de edición que ofrecen las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed para intervenir las imágenes originales a mi entera satisfacción.
