Red Brings Togetherness!

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Hope you are all getting spiced up for the weekend.

When you see the color "red", what comes to your mind? Life? Passion and love?, Danger?, Power?. Happiness?. Whichever it is, the color red depicts all of these and much more.

Red is a vibrant and dynamic color with varied meanings across cultures, contexts and disciplines. Red is the first color visible to the human eye. In fact, the color red isn't what one can see and overlook easily. It's an attention-grabbing, and intensely vivid hue that demands notice, evokes feeling and commands reaction. Another thing is that it usually leaves a mark of unmistakable and unforgettable presence in one.

I'd say that;

a red color shines like a star, impossible to conceal. It burns like fire, visible from afar, and making a loud statement that cannot shushed.

The red color and the "habanero pepper" have something in common. They are both hot, evoke feelings and command reaction, lol.

You dare not underestimate the power of these two, else "they'll show you pepper" (teach you an unforgettable lesson), lol..

So on the way back from work yesterday, I stopped by this roadside market to pick some stuffs, and this image caught my sight. A closer look at the pepper displayed there, I saw that it was 'habanero pepper" or "ata orodo" like we call it here. Hot, spicy but tasty.

A customer had stopped by to buy some and she was attended to her.
As if I knew that some interesting sight would be coming up, I decided to hang around for a while and then they, I guess her children, came along, each carrying a tray.

You may wonder why they all came with trays. Well, the thing is that it's a usual thing, in fact an age long practice for the kids to come around their parent's shops, shades or any business area to help out, especially in the evenings when they might have come back from school. If it's in the market, you'll see them moving around with their own share of whatever their parents sell. But if it's a shade or shop, they'll just stay there helping out with attending to customers. By doing so, they're gaining knowledge in the business and can even decide to venture into it.

You can see what she's doing here - putting some quantity of pepper in each of the trays.
See how the children sat, keenly watching what she was doing.

Here, she's instructing to them on how to sell the peppers.

Finally she's done and the children have dispersed to go make their mama proud.

One may say that it's wrong to have these children engage in such activities. Well there's sense on that but I tell you, this is how most families survive in this part of the world. Everyone joins hands to rake in the cash from different angles which will help keep the family going. Moreover it is from doing this that most of them learn how to be business savvy.

So there you have it, pepper red!. But hey!, be careful with it, lol 😂.

Still the #threadsaddict 😂
