THAT WE MAY AGE WITHOUT FEAR

That we may not age to the scam called adulthood
That we may not age to the empty stomachs at dusk
That we may not age to the cries of our raped sisters
That we may not age to the deaths of our youths
That we may not age to the betrayals of friends

That we may not age to the insanity of the failed system of our society
That we may not age to greed, to strives, to corruption
That we may not age to unkept promises, to broken homes
That we may not age to the fear of living life
That we may not age to the fear of facing the 'morrow

Oh that the shreds of our hearts would be mended
Oh that our lands would be healed of aches
Oh that our streets would be safe to sojourn
Oh that our hopes would be true as the laughter of babes
Oh that we may age without fear for the 'morrow
