It's a dog's world out there... - POB Storytelling Contest #3 by Hranhuk

Brownie was the definition of a couch dog. If you look couch dog on Wikipedia, you'll probably find a photo of Brownie on it. He was the most lazy dog in the world, and would only get out of the couch for two reasons: Food and his yellow ball. Of course he would go outside when nature called, but besides that, only food and yellow ball. His owners would hide the yellow ball from him, because we was really addicted to it, but from time to time they would toss it around and make him run a little bit.
One day, while he was playing with the ball, his owner went outside to get the mail. On his frenzy for the ball, it slipped from his mouth and went right through the door. Brownie didn't think twice and went after it, running like a mad dog to catch his precious ball. Unfortunately, the ball went to the street, got hit by a car and was sent flying away to the end of the street, where another car hit it and sent it even further. Brownie was not going to give up and ran as fast as he could to catch it, but the sweet moment he bit the ball, the sour reality hit him: He was now lost, away from home and his couch! So the first thing he did was...

Bark!

The only thing he knew how to do was bark and bark. Desperate and lost, he ran in front of a house and barked looking in all directions in the hope of finding something he recognized.

The barking was so loud that another animal that lives in the house where he is barking ended up waking up.
This was another furry, fat, lazy animal that only knew how to sleep and eat.

He raised an ear and an eye and with a sleepy face and cursing the barking dog he got up to see what was going on. And there he was crawling on the floor very sleepy until he climbed onto a balcony and looked out the window.

Then he saw Brownie barking nonstop and realized he wasn't going to stop. He opened the window and shouted at him:
-Hey boy! No more making so much noise, I'm going to bark somewhere else, go back to your house and I want to sleep.

At that moment, Brownie turns and looks at the window and sees the CAT over there talking to him. Despite being furious at being a cat, he left him aside and ran towards him for help.

-Please! I'm lost. I need to go back to my home, help me.

The cat thought and said how a dog can get lost in this way. However, the cat responded by saying that he was too busy sleeping to be able to help him.

But Brownie insisted a lot, said that if he helped him find his home, he would let him eat the lasagna he has in his house.
At that moment the cat woke up completely and jumped up accepting help.

-Come on, you stinky hair ball, find your home!

The Cat, who knew the surroundings well, just needed to look at the sign with Brownie's name to know where he lived.
And so the two left for the dog's house, which was not far from there.

In 5 minutes they were already at home and as promised Brownie gave lasagna to the cat.

And they were both happy.

Do you know who the cat is? This one...
