Proofofbrain Photocontest: insects

There is a photo contest by @friendlymoose called POBphotocontest.

Every week on Sunday a new round starts and the motto is announced.

To participate, you have to publish a post according to the theme, then leave a comment and a link in the contestpost and use the tag #pobphotocontest.
There are POB tokens to be won, which will be distributed as rewards for the published post.
Also @good-karma has donated Ecency points for the winners.
So it's worth joining in there.

This week's theme is insect and here is my contribution.

ATTENTION, ANYONE WHO IS AFRAID OF SPIDERS SHOULD NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER HERE:

We were once on holiday in Costa Rica. Somehow insects are always a bit bigger there than here in Germany.
If I googled it correctly, it would have to be a golden silk spider.
In any case, we saw a lot of them there.
They were quite big, some as big as the palm of your hand.

The spider had probably caught a dragonfly here and was about to eat it.
The wings are still visible.
Dragonflies are not smaller there than in Europe, rather larger. Now you can imagine approximately how big this spider was.

Here is my video of the spiders' meal.

The webs of this spider are incredibly tear-resistant. One evening in a lodge, a bat got caught in it. Unfortunately, I can no longer find the video. It got free again after a few minutes, but the web was almost undestroyed.

What an amazing spider.
